From BBC Football Championship Web page;
Gabriel Zakuani on his future with Stoke
On-loan Stoke defender Gabriel Zakuani has admitted he would like a permanent deal at the Britannia Stadium. The 21-year-old, who is in his second loan spell with the Potters from Fulham, now believes his long term future could lie in Stoke-on-Trent.
"The gaffer said he'd like me here so I'll wait and see what happens in the summer," Zakuani told BBC Radio Stoke.
"Obviously Stoke would be my first choice but you always think where you will be wanted the most."
Zakuani, who first joined the Potters in January 2007, spent the remainder of last season at the Britannia.
He rejoined City for a second loan spell in August and will remain with Stoke until the end of the season.
"The best thing for me to do is to wait and see how the season pans out" said the Zaire international. "I'm happy here, but I'm also happy at Fulham so it's not a bad choice to be making.
"There's a few things for me to discuss, like how much they value me and how much I want to move, but basically I will be taking the best offer that comes along."
Any deal may yet be affected by the two sides' respective league positions come May.
As things stand, Stoke could be playing Premier League football next season. And, to add a significant touch of irony, they could well swap places along the way with Zakuani's parent club Fulham, who are 19th in the top flight and one of the bookies' leading favourites to go down.
I think hes a decent player who hardly plays but does a good job when called upon. Quicker Full back than Griffin but i like Griff - especially his leadership & that hes a Stokie too. But i would put Griff Left Back & Gabi Zak Right Back.

Think he's a very capable defender and can play across the back, so would be a good signing! And only 21 too

A defence of Wilkinson - Zakuani - <experienced talky player> - Dickinson would be enough to walk this league, if we get to keep the rest of our squad.

can't see how he'd want to stay seeing as he's hardly played all season

really hope he does stay, great player to be able to rely on if injuries hit us, better centre-back than right-back, so hopefully we'll see him at centre-back more in the future.

I think he is the second best centre back at the club currently. I think he's far better than Cort and edges Shawcross. I like his commitment at the back. At right back though he's wank I think.

He's better than Griff in my eyes, Griff's been out paced by a number of players since he came to us.

"Zakuani plans to stop on at Stoke"Hmmm...not quite what he said, is it ? I think Griff is over-rated and always has been, if we go up he will again be exposed as at Derby, and where will that leave us ? Should never have come back As for Zak, great defender my only worry is that as a CB he is too small
