STOKE City?s assistant-manager Dave Kemp says midfielder Salif Diao is a major doubt for the trip to Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
But Kemp did offer some hope that defender Leon Cort could be available for the clash.
Both players were forced to go off during Stoke?s Easter clash with Blackpool with Diao picking up a calf injury, and, Cort hobbling off after hurting his calf.
Kemp said: ?We will have to wait and see with Leon, but Salif is less likely to play, and is a major doubt.
?Both have been off training and I think Leon is due to go for a scan tonight.?
Pulis was fuming with referee Mike Pike after his late arrival to the Brit on Saturday ? brought about by a crash on the M6 earlier in the day ? caused the kick-off against Blackpool to be delayed by half an hour.
And the Stoke boss believes the disruption caused to his players? preparation left them vulnerable the kind of muscle injuries which later struck Diao and Cort.
Pike defended his decision to travel to the Potteries on the day of the game by saying in Monday?s Sentinel: ?I never come overnight to a game. Unfortunately there was a serious accident and so it was out of my hands.
?I set off from home at 9.35 in the morning for a journey that would usually take me two hours and 15 minutes. I left plenty of time to make the journey.?
But with two of his key players left on the treatment table Kemp was in an unforgiving mood.
He added: ?There are 20,000 people in the stadium, the Blackpool fans and both of the teams.
?If he (Pike) says he got to the ground at 2.35pm, fine, that is 25 minutes to get his kit on and get warmed up. It only takes a phone call to explain that he is running late.
?He didn?t help with his attitude by firstly saying it wasn?t his fault. If I go to a game I make sure I?m there in good time. If you?re refereeing you can?t turn up late willy-nilly.?

Ye Diao has been shite but to be fair he hasnt been fit and when he is fit he is the best holding midfielder in the league

With the return of Lawrence, the injury to Salif is almost 'ideal'. He has been scaring the hell out of me recently (although his 4 minutes against Blackpool were promising!). If a player cannot pass to a teammate who is 5 yards away from him he shouldn't be in the team. Simple. Thankfully, Saturday, Salif won't be in the team. I would expect Cort to make it for the starting XI and will partner Riggott: Nash (if he doesn't get recalled ) Griffin Cort Riggott Dicko Lawrence Delap Whelan (maybe captain against his old club?- TP did it for Gifton at Watford) Pugh Sidibe Cresswell Subs: Simmo, Zakuani, Bothroyd, new striker (not Kamara), Wilko

Thank fuck Diao will be out for the last few games as he aint fit enough and way off the pace,he needs a pre-season schedule starting now to get him ready for next season. He is under contract so put him to bed now. But it leaves us open to another lame excuse from the Pulis/Kemp spinning machine that if we fuck up again on how massively the loss of Salif was to the team...like yeh we really missed his snale like movement and misplaced passes which helped the opposition!!!

How bad is Cort's injury? I don't wish to spread panic in the ranks but I'm told Bucko lined up at center half when the first team did their shape work at training today.

i'm glad diao is out,i'm struggling to think of a good game he's had since returning, he is clearly unfit yet pulis sticks by him, he needed more reserve games. we can't afford to carry passengers.
we have delap , whelan , pugh & lawrence who can play centre.

Why not this so we aint got players out of position for a change?
Nash
Wilko Cort Riggott Griff
Liam Delap Whelan Pugh
Cressy Bothroyd
Thats got goals balance and creativity in it if played properly.

Why the hell you would play Cresswell up front at the moment i have no idea he looks lost up there he is even better on the wing and thats saying something.
Has to be Bothroyd and Gally up front for me and mama to come on from the bench to steady things when we are 1-0 up
