I don't wanna come across as a negative Stokie at such a critical point of our season when we need nothing but positives but Ive noticed recently that some people are saying that we have much the better run in up to the end of the season, now, am I perhaps the only one who thinks it may be a little more difficult than people may think, a look at our remaining fixtures as follows:
Sheffield Wednesday (a) - This lot beat us at the Brit this season 2-4, plus they done us last season, it seems that we have a small problem when it comes to playing these, especially when Deon Burton is playing. He seems to love playing us.
Crystal Palace (h) - Firstly, it's a SKY game. I dread watching our games on SKY. Palace also have a half decent manager who can motivate his players at a click of a hand. There is also the fact that Palace have a chance of making the Play-offs, so they still have plenty to play for.
Coventry City (a) - Another team that has turned us over at the Brit this season, 1-3. Coventry are another side who we seem to struggle with and drawing is usually the most likely outcome. Coventry are in a proper relegation dogfight and due to their wretched away form, they will be banking on taking maximum points at the Ricoh Arena, plus they have a nippy striker who can score goals in the shape of Mifsud.
Bristol City (h) - Another SKY game.......A massive game and one which may have a bearing on who gets one of those automatic spots. Bristol's home form as been nothing short of outstanding this season, bar the Plymouth match, which probably means they are having their blip. They couldn't keep winning every week!. Their away form has been ok and they will feel like they can get a result against us. They got some half decent players don't forget. I guess that one hinges on who has the nerve to take the game to their opponents, I hope it's us who is more up for it.
Colchester United (a) - I would say that Colchester will be down by this point and seeing as though this game will be their last ever at Colchester, I reckon they will be desperate for a good send off after a crap season for them. If they have nothing to play for then they going to make it bloody tough for us. Okay, they don't have the Iwelumo-Cureton partnership, but i bet they go all out for one final push before heading back to League One.
Leicester City (h) - This could be huge. Leicester are fighting relegation and may need a result in this game to stay up, we may need a result to go up, so a lot will be riding on it. It's obvious from our recent performances that we have been nervy throughout and Leicester with all their millions they have spent will not want to be dropping a league.
I dont mean to be a negative tosser but I just see it how it is. I feel confident we can do it, but there surely isn't any easy run in for any side now. As long as we can get a run together again with Lenny, Riccy and Shawcross coming back from bans plus possibly a new recruit, we can do it. I for one know though it's gonna be tough and will go right to the wire, since when have we done anything the easy way? Premiership opening fixture: Stoke City v Manchester United Aug 9th 2008.
GOARRNNNNNNN STOKE!! ;D

I bet the other teams concede that although tough with our run in and other teams playing each other it really should be ours to lose. That said no game is easy two wins on the bounce could do us wonders now.

So it's difficult playing teams near the top because you, know, they're quite good and all that. Difficult playing teams near the bottom because they're fighting for their lives. Difficult playing teams in the middle or already down because the pressure's off them as they have nothing to play for. Tricky business this isn't it?

Simply summed up as "there are no easy games at this time of the season" (as Saturday showed so well)!

Simply summed up as "there are no easy games at this time of the season" (as Saturday showed so well)! Spot on, the old cliche "Taking each game as it comes is bang on!" We really need our better players to hit top form. A loan signing such as Camara could make all the difference. Squeeky bum time!!!!!!

There are no easy games in this league at all never mind at this stage of the season. Anyone can beat Anyone in this league at any point, we all need to remember that. Take each game as though we have started one nil down and need 2 goals is what we need to do.

Its not an easy run in but its not the worst by a long shot, its in our hands and we need to just start off with a win at Sheff and we will be on our way!

Rather than the run in I would suggest that a close look at current form be in order. With 6 games to go a quick butchers at the last 6 games does not make for easy reading. The only team below us on current form is Colchester. On the plus side Watford and Bristol City are only better than us on goal difference. If the current form were to be extended Hull would go up as Champions along with West Brom leaving Stoke, Bristol, Watford and Palace in the playoffs.
