The New Barrack Tavern on the dual carriageway (Penistone Road) is a decent boozer - 5 mins from ground, great beer and should be a good atmosphere. The Weatherspoons in Hillsborough is a hole!

The New Barrack Tavern is excellent. Good food and beer. I'll be there celebrating my lad's 21st birthday.

More like 10 minutes walk to the away end lads but I believe it's a very friendly pub for away fans so you should have no problems here. The Weatherspoons in Hillsborough (The Rawson Spring) was only opened last year and is a decent pub and quite big so I don't know where you heard that it's a hole but I doubt away fans would be allowed in.
