As much as I support this new initiative,it gets a bit much when you get Ian Wright jumping on the bandwagon and saying he's got a 4 point plan to stop it! Give me strength-pot and kettle Ian.Pot and kettle.

The Premiership is the cancer in this country. With the exception of Southampton, you hardly get ManUre-esque scenes when a referee gives a decision against Plymouth, Stoke or Port Vale, do you? If a free kick gets given against Dele Adebola for a minor offence during an insignificant passage, does he run to the referee and swear loudly in his face like Wayne Rooney or does he accept it and get on with the game?
The big four clubs may be the most obvious examples, with the likes of Ronaldo, A Cole, J Cole, Gallas, Ferdinand, Gerrard and Mascherano, but the over pampered wannabes below them are just as bad. Look at Lee Hendrie. Mediocre top division players who think they're special and precious. Alan Smith, who defines mediocrity, was all over the referee when we played Newcastle in the cup, as were a good few other of their players.
What's the solution? Take the money off them.

i'm all for seeing the refs get more respect but on the other side they need to start getting more decisions right too
thinknig of some in particular like ronaldo's penalty that never was against pompey, chelsea's penalty that should never have been against liverpool, failure to send off ashley cole and phil bardsley for their tackles, tottenhams "goal" at man utd which crossed then line
its got to work both ways!

This is a bit rich considering two of our most recent players in Fuller and Lawrence are/have been serving bans for accruing 10 yellow cards, many of which were dished out for dissent.
Not just the prem pretty boys methinks.

The Premiership run the game ..make no mistake. Now SJE got done for "taking his time leaving the field after being sent off". Lets see if Mascherano gets similar . Somehow you just doubt it dont you?
