I dont see how people can say that the championship is worse than it has ever been, competitive but poor standard? how do we then explain 3 championship sides being in the quarter finals of the F.A. Cup? Many championship sides have beaten plenty of premiership sides in recent years and by all accounts the premiership is the best league in the world. So that says to me that the gulf isnt all that big. Noone is questioning that any of the teams that go up will find it hard but that isnt because of the poor standard of the championship its the quality of the premiership. All of the the championship sides bar the bottom 2 all have recognisable players and all have had players from the prem. I think the league is alot better when it is like this, unpredictable and exciting, who wants the league to be tied up now by west brom and watford, if pundits are anything to go by! This season has been very exciting and turning up to watch the games knowing that any result is possible just adds to the excitement for me.Come on Stoke, up the potters by any means!!!!

Apparently a league where the top four can be EASILY predicted before a ball has been kicked is the best league in the world!
As for Wigan, Reading, Sunderland, Birmingham, Bolton, Fulham and Derby being in a relegation fight, well who would have thought that? Oh yeh EVERYONE!
If every fan with a modicom of knowledge had predicted the final standings only Newcastle and Tottenham woould have caught many people out. And guess what! Its been the same every year for the last ten to fifteen years and will continue being so.
But get a league where anyone can beat anyone EVERY game could go ANY way and probably if 50 million people had guessed the promotion fight and relegation fight NOT ONE SINGLE PERSON would have been correct! And that is a poor league!!!!
Maybe boxing has got it wrong Tyson V John Inman would be much more appealling cos we all know what would happen and could all eat our vip lunches in peace whilst cleverly predicting the outcome!
Tools like the Daily Mirror prik don't understand or like football and can't get their heads round competitive football. To them its a jolly boys outing with lots of corporate hospitality and sod all to do with a contest between two teams.
Championship, toss? No way! The quality of players is obviously not as high as the Prem but it pisses all over the Prem in almost every other way.

Interesting point trebor. One I hadn't considered properly before, but you're right. Standards of play are lower, but excitement over finishing places is considearbly higher.
