The more i watch the Premier league, the more apparent it becomes the best sides have good fullbacks.
Evertons fullbacks joined in and raided brilliantly yesterday.
Not only does it give a team width but is also a get out ball for midfielders caught in posession.
For Stoke City to move forward regarding style of football we need to addd fullbacks who are comfortable on the ball.
This will also assist the midfielders who will have extra options to pass to.

Absolutely, say what you like about Cashley Cole, but he's fucking awesome.

And why do we persist in playing huth at right back, wilko's surley the better full back. Move huth to the center with ryan and drop abby.

I am a big Wilko fan but he really was shocking against chelsea, always caught out of position too. I think we need fullbacks for both sides of the pitch

Wilko was awful and i mean dreadful at chelsea,i can see why he is playing Huth now. Neither are the answer or anywhere near it.

Pulis' first thought is defense and he thinks fullbacks are there to defend. Most goals are scored in the box so he wants big guys to defend the box. That's the simplistic level we operate at I'm afraid.

which is why IMHO Figgy would be a great signing, if you look at his passing stats and yardage, he is probably the best pound for pound full back outside the top teams that we can afford.

O'Shea, Brown, Lescott, Cuellar, Onuoha, Richards, A. Ferdinand yesterday, Ivanovic, are all, originally, centre halves playing at Full Back. Carragher and Agger also fill in when required.
Although Full backs would be nice, our defence has been our strong point for the last two seasons, so I for one won't be fretting if these are the last positions in the team that get addressed. All the targets we seem to be linked with this window seem to be an attempt to improve our goal threat, midfield and attack, so I'll be satisfied if that part of our evolution comes to pass and we leave the defence for another window.
