How does everyone feel he has performed so far?
Personally, after a bright start, and then he served his 2 game ban, he has come back an average player. Hoping for a good performance from him at the weekend, at his old club.

Bang on!!!! I think if the defence gave him the right balls then he could be the key man for stokes promotion campaign

i think hes had a good start to be honest. It cant be too nice for someone that is known for his passing and shooting to see balls flying over his head and bypassing him. Good start though...the bloke seems to have a bit of everything

i think he'd be better with the ball at his feet instead of watching it go over his head and then having to chase after a sidibe flick goes to the opposition

totally agree Mark. Trouble is he's now at stoke so his job is to defend

It would actually be nice if he was allowed to play his natural game as a box to box midfielder.
At the moment, he seems to be playing with the shackles on.
The Whelan at Wolves away was magnificent. The one that we have seen since has been ok, but a pale imitation of the player we had that day

Pulis won't allow him across the halfway line, the half wit. It's as simple as that.

I've been impressed with Whelan overall - as has been said before he's keeping it simple and with good tackling. He's known to score a screamer or two so I've got me fingers crossed! I can remember feeling like this about recently-signed players a couple of times before; namely Paul Randall and Tony Ellis. Firmly hoping that Glenn doesn't work out like they did. ;D

Im with archiesdad, If id got a choice between SJE or Whelan i know who i'd pick, And it wouldn't be Whelan. I cant say i heard much about him before he came Stoke but with all the hype of some on here i expected a lot more, Especially with him replacing SJE.

Not been that impressed with him. Probably more how he is being asked to play. Think his strength is going forward, but he seems to be playing too deep. It is said he has a good shot but again never gets far enough forward to get a shot in. Not as competetive as SJE, so I think doesn't protect the defence as well. Don't think he has really improved the midfield, but don't think it is his fault. I think Pulis puts the emphasis in midfield on defence rather than attack, so he doesn't really get the best out of him offensively.

I have noticed when he has the ball he always looks up to see whats on ,the trouble is no one finds the space.and he ends up playing it simple.Got a feeling theres a lot more to come from Glenn.

Started excellently but has faded slightly, playing his old team might be just what he needs and he will have a big say in our promotion hopes no doubt about it!!!

I personally haven't been too impressed with the guy so far. I know he's a good player, but he seems to be playing with an invisible confidence barrier at the moment the same as Salif. We need these players to stand bolt upright for the next few games and put in some big performances if we are to see the dream become reality.
