The fact we are basically giving away one of the best players out our club is shameful. Fuck what Pulis says, ALOT more has gone on behind the scenes with Liam than what has been let on. PLayers are leaving in their droves from us, and what have wee brought in ?? 2 championship players, another Kenneth that is overrated to say the least !! Fucing livid !

Lawrence has gone as far as he can with Stoke. It's as simple as that.

Liam is an alcoholic. Don't need him at this club

How can he be a massive loss ? even though he played a massive role in getting Stoke here, he's not exactly been an ever present in our premiership life so far.

Alot more certainly has gone on and the truth never came out over the ALLEDGED dog incident thanks to the club so before you slate Pulis have a little think about it.

Lawrence has a great player in him but we've seen it all too infrequently since we were promoted.
How you can say Jones is a Championship player is beyond me and effectively invalidates everything else you say. Walters has also made a bright start and looks likely to contribute quite a lot. He certainly didn't look out of his depth in the Premier League on Saturday.

He didn't trip over his dog he was wasted fell down the stairs. He is.out on the pop all the time. Peter Reid James Beattie and Liam were always out together drinking even on a Friday night. But Liam has a problem

I think the dog incident actually happeneed, it's far too silly a story for the club to make up if it was really something else like a fall in a nightclub or an unauthorised five a side injury as was rumoured. If it was one of those things, surely they would have just called it a training ground injury knowing that would attract nothing like as much attention as saying it was dog related.

Liams old school and we need to keep moving forward and look towards bringing in the next generation of players. Already stuff on this on the Lawrence for Wilson thread.

Player come, players go. That's just the way it is. As long as we get better in that's fine.
Good luck Liam.

I partly agree with you katjam, on the surface we are getting rid of a player who is more than good enough to be part of our midfield. However if the drug/drink rumours are true then it may be time for to move on, for his own sake and ours.

Lawrence didn't really cut it last season. Hopefully the news that he might be on his way means there is someone else lined up for RW (apart from Walters). Talking of wingers - anyone know what's going on with Ben Marshall - he's not been sent out on loan has he? He looked very impressive pre-season.

Liam has got slower over the last two years to a point where the Linesman now has to hold his run before flagging for off side Not a big loss in my opinion.

He is a good player and doubt we would have been promoted without him.
Still, for a number of reasons he hasn't played well / consistently since promotion and we currently cope without him so it isn't the end of the world. In fact (in the nicest possible way) we won't notice he has gone. So see it as gaining a player for two players we wouldn't know exist if you look at the team over the past 8-9 months.

Fair points made - especially about the drink / drugs issue. It's just abit dissapointing really. I mean fair enough - if we had signed a mint winger to replace him, but is this Wilson REALLY that good ?
I'll never forget THAT goal at Cov...Liam will always be a Stoke Legend for that goal for me.

I will miss lawrence as he has been one of my favourite players since he has been here, but if Pulis is not willing to play him then whats the point in paying him big wages? And he has not looked the same player last season as previous .. (granted not many chances)

At The emirates last year, liam was so slow he seemed to be going abckwards. I think one of the big learnings from promoion is that pace is the killer in the Premiership. hence Walters not as skillful but that bit quicker and sohas a chance to contribute
the right move for everyone

Liam has been a really good player for Stoke but his pace (what little he had) has gone. Very grateful for his contribution but he needs a Championship / Scottish club now.
Good luck Liam.

katjam how do you know a winger isn't coming in and by the way the bloke will always be highly thought of by most Stoke fans after what he did in our promotion season

Liam was one of the best Championship players we have ever had. If he has played more than 15 good games for us un the Premiership I will be surprised. When he was left out by TP soon after his Irish debut I was critical of TP. But once I saw Lawrence return to the side I could understand his absence.
I don't pretend to know all that has gone on from the alleged accident with the dog in our first Prem season to the total loss of form last season to his hanging around with James Beattie - but I'd stake my life that something that we don't know about HAS gone on and Liam's form has been the worse for it.
Who is to blame is irrelevant - the FACT is that, for us, Liam is no longer the player he was. Pity - he was once one of my favourite players - but it is now best he moves on.

He WAS the best player at the club...
Not any more, still a decent squad player but from what i hear about him he is a real c@@t
Beats esq.... not a fav with TP.
Move him and Kitson on for a 23 yr old up and coming great player... lower wages for two players who wont play for Stoke again.
Cant be bad IMO
Leaves us light again on the Right and surely means Tunny wont go as he is cover for that side.
