Yesterday it was pretty sh*t, except for in the concourse where the lads weren't playing for some reason ???
Anyway block 19 and 24/25 need to start singing together. So many times yesterday and at other games, one block started off one song, then the other tried to come over the top with another, its not a competition lads!!! We need to sit somewhere together ideally, bt i know with season tickects ect its hard.
Block 19 please lay off delilah aswel. For example yesterday you tried to get one going halfway through the first half. Never going to happen. We didnt have much to cheer about. Save it for when we have scored / if we've won at the end of teh game.
Also teh chavs tht sit in block 12/13 of the JS please move to the boothen, no-one can ever hear you as your such a small group. Its cheaper aswell.

I sit in block 19, and before anyone starts im not chav scum etc. I know they sing Delilah way too much and i always sit down when they do because it pisses me off, but I wish the rest of the boothen would try. We try to join in with block 24/25 when we can, but the favour never gets returned.

Delilah should only be sung when we have scored a goal to take the lead or equalize to get into a draw situation.

Told yer before, when the atmosphere is crap YOU have to make it good....... Take a chant, preferably one that involves clapping, and just keep bollocking it out. Don't give a fuck about those around you, just keep on and on and eventually people WILL join in. There's been enough songs put on this board this past couple of weeks to keep you going til the end of season. By the way, if you can sing a silly one you'll be suprised when people start laughing how they join in

It's alright talking about not singing delilah etc etc but the ones you need to be telling aren't the ones who are Computer literate. I can't fault the young chavs at times for wanting to get songs going although i think the excitement gets to them in terms of song speed.
It really does get on my jacobs to be stereotyped with these idiots because of where i sit, and to be fair i really wouldn't change it - Every match in block 19 usually has more entertainment than the game itself.
Goooarnn Stoke!

As well as block 19 and 24 getting songs in sync, howsabout block 21, 22 and 23 joining in!!!
Thats the problem, theres 3 blocks of supporters in the Boothen, who will not sing or stand unless its time to go.
This is why the atmosphere is always shite.
The only really good atmos was against Newcastle in the FA Cup, and that was because the season-ticket-stranglehold on blocks 21, 22 and 23 were broken.
If we can't make a racket with 20.000 in the ground AND we're top of the league then how sad are we?
Cast aside the flasks and tartan-blankets and MAKESOMEFUCKINGNOISE!!!!!!

I agree wizzard - I sit in Block 23 and along with myself, there's probably only 10 others max around me that try to join in with any songs - I join in with the lads who stand at the back of 23/24, but when you're singing on your own I do sometimes cut short of what I would do if I was in a big group of lads - feel a bit of a prick singing on your tod. There's Cockney ted and his crew at the front of 23 that also try to get some atmosphere going but I struggle to hear them proeprly and im halfway up the block never mind the other end of the ground! The sad thing is that around me there are very few "flask carriers" or "blanket wearers" - the vast majority are around the age of 40 or so yet they hardly ever bother to join in, so frustrating!!

Stoke fans have been like this for long while. 'We only sing when we're winning'!
Agree though, we have to get rid of reserved seating in the boothen. That's why the atmosphere at away games is much better, everyone knows that.

I suppose it helps when there's something to cheer about

I suppose it also helps when the fans 'cheer' their team onto victory.

I suppose you 'cheer' them to victory! Works both ways. Like i said stoke fans sing when they're winning.
There was even a point half way through the second half when Whelan dared to pass the ball back to one of the defenders as he was being closed down.
Now normally in the prem that everyone raves about they do that every match. It's called keeping possession. When stoke do it all i heard was 'get it forward' 'boot it up the pitch stoke FFS'.
Now that always happens down stoke as well. And people want us to keep the ball and pass it. What with these fans!

How about handing out drums and klaxons to non-season-ticket-holders to wake the season-ticket-holders up during the game??

I stand on the back row of block 24. There's always a few of us there singing but there are so many in front and to our right that just sit in silence all game. There are usually a few right in the corner to our left who usually give it a go as well.
The lads in block 19 do seem to think every song is a race though.
