Worse for Blackpool. 3 hours sitting on a coach not moving. Team talk on the coach. Pre-match meal in the dressing room. Didn't hear them complaining.
Pulis is making the club seem like a bunch of pricks.

Whilst I agree that the manager should not be trying to use the delay as an excuse, isn't it the case that clubs and officials are DUTY BOUND to arrive on time? Accidents do happen - so they need to plan ahead. Anyone know the rules re potential sanctions?

But it said in the paper that Blackpool were ready to play @ 3pm according to Grayson. It was just the ref who was not there It was questionned on P&G last night about the senior lino stepping in to Ref and then a 4th official being appointed from anyone who was a qualified ref in the crowd ??? Surely this should have been the option

They would have know how far away the ref was and probably thought it easier to wait - plus, I don't mind waiting for the opposition fans to arrive, I would expect the same courtesy for us at away games - but teams and officials must have an arrival DEADLINE surely?

Yes, Pulis does seem to be doing a lot of complaining lately, be it the fixture list or delayed kick offs.

"Yes, Pulis does seem to be doing a lot of complaining lately, be it the fixture list or delayed kick offs." To be honest, I think that Pulis is just trying to distract as much crap as he can away from the players and making everyone focus on other issues so that in theory the players are not under any pressure

If we had been playing at Carlisle (where Mr Pike came from), I am sure that we would have stayed over!

Several factors here. Firstly, I agree that TP is doing too much whingeing and probably transmitted his fears to the payers in a way which Steve Coppell, for example, would never have done. Secondly, I do agree that it is entirely unprofessional for the (distant) ref to leave it so late. I believe that, in the PL, they have to stay overnight. Thirdly, I wonder if TP realised that the man to talk to, was coincidentally right there at the Brit!! I asked him (Andy Williamson, number two at the FL) if ref's weren't meant to stay overnight and he said no. Fourthly, it was the ref's absence which prevented an on-time KO, as the team coach arrived well on time for it, if not as early as hoped. Fifthly, I was very disappointed that, with so many supporters standing freezing outside the closed turnstiles, the club did not at least announce the arrival of the opposition, (until later) which would at least have assured them that the game was on and not too far away. Incidentally, before SCFC gets the blame, it was the police who prevented early turnstile opening, until they knew for sure the kick-off time. A right mess for those with trains to catch, but wouldn't have mattered as much if we'd have played better than a parks team.

A bit late with my reply to this post, bit like the ref really, who could have come to Stoke Friday and claimed his overnight expenses, Hotel, food etc, but chose not to. And as for Tone moaning, I think he's just getting some practice in for next season when we're in the prem.

Good one, Chirp.
I'm looking foward to you reaching the promised land.
"It's very unprofessional of Rafa to do that. I mean, ok they beat us 6-0, but to buy the Radio Times and the TV Times just smacks of petty filthy tricks.
I mean, what next, TV Quick? TV Choice? The mind boggles..."

Don't tell me you've never got pissed, wandered onto an opposition message board, thought of something clever to say and then made a balls of it talking about TV guides....
