A Moronic Mindless report from an Imbecilic reporter. To give Gallagher an 8 for that match yesterday shows that he can't even have been watching it. The thing that beats me though is that he was probably paid for writing that.

i agree with 3rdminute, theres no way he could of watched that game, especially with his rating of Gallagher. Another typical anti-stoke article showing a journalist's lack of knowledge

What an idiot the man is! He challenges to name 3 of the Bristol City players, well i can do that ...... BUT can he name the Blackpool managers name???? NO He rates there manager (Barker) as a 7, is their manager not called Simon Grayson? Yet another top quality piece of journalism from a premiership focused journalist

Agree with most of the above, there wasn't any actual match report in there... that's not lazy journalism, its not really journalism at all.
I was against a big money premiership when it started off, and will probably still have the same opinion if we go up. He makes some valid points but his perspective is clearly the product of viewing the world from between his own arse cheeks. To slate the lower leagues on these grounds is right out of order.

Is that meant to be a match report? Did he actually mention the match? If we are THAT poor a football team at least we're top! He is a desperately poor second rate hack who can barely string a sente3nce together and who doesn't even mention what he was sent to repiort on!
Did he actually go to the game? I dresay next weeks 'match report' is ALREADY on the retards pc

We were poor yesterday by all accounts, but this is shoddy reporting, he failed to mention we were missing our top 2 goal scorers one of whom sets up most of our goals.

If he wants to talk about a "sea of mediocrity" then he should cast his eye over at his beloved Premier League...Middlesbrough 28 in 31 (and did he see their excuse of a performance against Cardiff?) Oh but Dave, didn't you hear the analysis on that game? It wasn't fair that Cardiff used things like set pieces and long throws to attack their opposition, it's just not right. The referee should have capitulated when the Middlesbrough players reinvented the handball rule and goals from indirect free kicks should be deducted from your goal difference. Fortunately, Gary Johnson was on hand to tell them how crap and one dimensional they were.

Frasier 37 you are right.
There was a bloke ranting on the radio, 606 on the way back from Norwich about Watford being crap and the other teams in the chamionship being alike, he was spot on.
This reporter is spot on when you look at our last few games. Lack of passing ability, lack of goal chances, clueless tactics ? The truth hurts.
Let's hope we start playing football again and make the opposition goalkeeper start working for his money when they play Stoke, otherwise it's another season in the championship for us.

Although there's a lot of truth in that, what infuriates me is the fact that only when Stoke City score from set-pieces, produce long throws or use tall players, is it wrong. I've noticed so many of our opponents recently having long throw experts, with no media criticism. And we've played a few teams recently, with a shortage of midgets.

Yes Monica a lot of teams play this way not just Stoke but a bit of football the way we used to play would be good to see.

Forget his comments on Stoke and note his attitude to the game overall - Perhaps there is a reason for the gulf in class that he is so happy to point out ? Perhaps Fernando fucking Torres earns a little bit more than Leon Cort ? Perhaps due in part, to selfish, greedy wankers like him and his Manure loving journo leaches football is now a fucked up mess where a few have everything and the majority live on scraps.
He can fuck right off IMHO

stokemark,
Yes there is a big gulf between the teams you mention and yes the game has been messed up big time due to all the money going to the premiership and not filtering down to the lower levels.
Yes he probably does support manure and live in London as well but it isn't all rubbish and the championship is now full of mediocre teams.

Ive never seen a team lambasted by the press as much as Stoke have been this season .Either we are totally deluded in our outlook on Stoke and our potential for next season or we are in for the biggest shock of our lives if/when we go up .You decide.Me i think we need to drastically improve the way we play not necessarily the players but the way we approach games and the style of football Pubis plays. ???

Bristol City, finally succumbing to the strain of overachievement, best capture the overwhelming sense of anonymity. Go on. Name three of their players, without peeking at the line-up elsewhere on these pages. surely a league where even a newly promoted team can challenge for the top spot is far more exciting for the fans than one in which the top three is decided before the a ball has even been kicked.

Agree Tubes
And I could happily name half a dozen plus Bristol City players but then I guess that because I am passionate about football, go to matches, have and interest in the game at all levels and enjoy and spend time coaching kids ie
I dont sit on my arse being spoonfed the premiership from a box in the corner whilst thinking about when Im going to have my next wank over the 2 dozen or so 'big name' Premiership stars I do know (as Im too thick or dont care about the rest of football) !!

Wanker he may be.....
The truth is though that our team as it played yesterday would rewrite the definition of 'awful' if put in a premiershit context. And that's no disrespect to what they've achieved, to be top is nothing short of sensational but the fact remains that on the balance of what I've been watching this season, we look like a mid table team. Ok, maybe upper mid table with a long odds chance of a play-off place if the gods look kindly upon on us. In my opinion, we look no better that we did last season.
The real culprits aren't the likes of Stoke and Bristol City, but those clubs with their premiershit parachute billions and 15-20,000 season ticket holders who have so massively underachieved it's scarecly beggars belief. Take Colchester and Scunthorpe out of the bottom 6 and tell me any of them should be doing better than us. If some metrosexual journo wants to score points having a pop at the creme de la creme of our division, don't knock us, we're as surprised as anyone. Have a go at the clubs who really should be doing far far better than they are.

I made a point months ago about one Graham Kelly. He's the main culprit because the premiership was his idea. Once he couldn't get his way, he left the Football League and joined the Football Association, which is the ruling body.
Then he got his own way and the road has been downhill ever since.
Agents also have a lot to answer for. if ever there was a plague of locusts in the game, these are they.
No matter what I think of Pulis's management and playing style, I am very sympathetic to the fact that his hands are often tied by greedy agents acting on their own behalf, not that of their client and certainly not of the club(s).
The fans are even further down the pecking order for them.
All the major factors contributing to this mediocre division - and it IS - have been highlighted by someone in this thread.
If we can see it, why can't "those that know", and thereby help the situation to improve for ALL clubs, not just the chosen few?
