....something has to be done about Griff.
He's either got to...
a) be dropped
b) moved to the left
He was poor again yesterday.
To be honest, I don't know why Pulis has to look beyond Dicko and Wilko to fill the full-back positions. Both are good defenders, and whilst not the best distributors of the ball, they can't be too worse than Griff at the moment.
An iffy signing on a ridiculously long contract is my assessment - particularly with two very capable full backs already in the ranks.

Already a thread up there about this entitled DICKO
Yes, he needs to be moved to the left back position.

We should not make constant calls to replace Groiff with Wilko just because he is a young lad.
Wilko was arguably worse than Griff yesterday and neither of them ewere the worst on the pitch

Andy Wilkinson is a better defender than Andy Griffin. Griffin supposedly offers more going forward, though seems incapable of passing to another player or playing percentages and using the channels.
On that basis, Wilkinson should play at right back.

Just drop the fucker, he passes back to nash all the time, puts the team under pressure all the time, and generally chooses the wrong passes all the time.
So does pugh.
Griffin and Pugh out, wilko and dicko in.
But it will never happen, because griff and pugh are Tone's bumboys!

Or maybe we should consider the 2 or 3 occasions yesterday when the rest of the defence were having their regular afternoon nap and Griff was the only one alert enough to cut out the danger?

cant understand people moaning about griff on here during the game yesterday i was always commenting how he was one of our better players and since hes been back hes shown good skill commitment. I remember people not long ago moaning that lawrence was crap and i always was amazed because i always thought he was one of the best players on the pitch.

Griffin is a poor player at right back IMO. We know he's not the worlds greatest defender (an understatement, just look at his horrific Derby spell), and he appears useless moving forward down the right hand side as he can't take a man on the outside. He should only be played as a left back - personally I would drop him.
Tone's dodgiest signing this season IMO.

Griffin was poor yesterday, and while the rest of the team seemed shaky, Griff to me looked worried every time he got the ball. He makes me nervous, everytime he gets the ball!

Coll45: At the beginning of the season, I rated the players out of 10 for each game and have stored the scores I have given, based on my views on the performance...these are the marks for the Griff so far:
7,6,6,7,7,7,6,5,5,7,7,5.

Griffin was the worst player on the pitch by a mile yesterday. Wilkinson and Dickinson need to be the full backs asap. Not because they are young mainly to the fact that they are better. Griffin again was fookin woeful.

Double standards people
Griffin is a left back not a right back so why should he be dropped if is being played out of position?

When he plays left back, it will be just as bad. He will keep having to cut inside as he has no left peg and passing back to the keeper putting us under pressure.....
A right footed left back, it never works, it worked for Griff for about 6 games, but then he was found out and kept getting done at the far post!

griff was awfull so many displaced passes and gave the ball away 2nd half wich allowed blackpool to break.
not the player he was last season.

Slightly off the subject of Griff but important in the scheme of things.. shouldn't Owls players are ace also have the Owls badge underneath it???? A change of approach o' stokief. My record is now tarnished - previously the 'record' was that the player/opposition in question did not score. Well, Blackpool did.

At times hes so fecking slow to react its not true -other times hes committed and 'flys in'
must be a sign of his age ?
we'd need someone much nippier and quicker for the prem, in fact half the team would simply be, too slow for the prem

Didnt he earn a big transfer to Newcastle based on his games at Left Back?
