Heading North to the fair city and the game tomorrow, and don't want to be caught out with V-Festival traffic.
Anyone know if it'll likely be an issue on the M6 coming up from M5 round about 1230 ?
All the usual traffic sites have had a default warning on to expect delays. Would have imagined everyone would be pitched up and pi$$ed wet through by the time all the Stokie SW expats head up to the temple of football that is the Britannia Stadium ?
Any views ? or facts ?
Thanks

highly probable
short of some barmy route: come off & head via M54 & then via Eccleshall to N-U-L & even thrn could be problems might just have to lump it & leave at least an hour earlier
good luck

It shouldn't do. Won't it already be in full flow about 12:30?

it will effect the m6, i can remember this time last year and we had a away game on the day, and we were stuck in traffic for about a hour odd, i would set out early.

You could have a look on www.trafficengland.com/ before you leave, to try and get an idea of the roads. You can check live video feeds of the roads.

Eccelshall road is a great shout. Been V a few times and dropped people off another time. Traffic tends to be all along the A5 from the motorway but clear after.

Another way is to head for the M6 toll but carry on to the A38 and come through Lichfeild and then Stafford

dont touch M54 the V traffic will be coming west along there and also A5 . Best to use M6 toll road round via Cannock and back on M6 easy ...

I would take a38 to Lichfield then take the a51 via rugeley to stone then the a34.

I go the festival most years but aren't going this time. The 1st band starts at 12 so I presume everyone will be in there by then. Most people do go on the Friday so I can't see there being any traffic.

Southbound was terrible today but Northbound has been pretty reasonable. Avoid the M54/A449 at all costs.
Probably best to stick to the M6 but give yourself an extra 45 mins or so.

Thanks again everyone.
Trafficengland site is a very good shout - never used it before.
We'll see some goals tomorrow - 2-2 draw.

On a similar, but completely irrelevant note and since I'm down in Cornwall at the moment, you might be interested to learn that the Stithian Steam Tractor rally is causing havoc on the A39 road towards Falmouth.
...it's raining a lot down here, does the boredom show?

Anyone going to V after the match? I got a free ticket this week so I'm going to watch us beat the Spuds and then head to the festival. I can't be the only one?!!

it was affecting it today never mind tommorow That's because most people go today. Not necessarily only those camping, anyone with day tickets usually get there between 12 -2 so the roads will be bad at the time you hit the area.

Good luck

Yet another question - should be the last...javascript:add("%20:)") I have a car park ticket in the West One Car Park - will I be able to get there coming from Trentham up SM Way. Have always just turned up and parked in one of the big open spaces on the left going up SM Way, but looking at the club website, it's all changed around now ? Help ? Thanks all
