No it doesn't. CCTV, increased Police presence and massive, crippling penalties for violence in and around stadia keeps trouble out of grounds! The only thing that all-seaters have done is massively detract from the atmosphere, jack prices up and absolutely annihilate my knees because I'm a lanky bastard and it's really really uncomfortable for me to have the plastic of the seat in front of me jamming into my shin for ninety minutes. I hate sitting at football matches, hate it. If it was just the stand directly facing the away fans that was terraced (ie, our Boothen End) then there's be no risk of violence anyway, unless people decided to run the length of the pitch... But they could do that from a seated position anyway.

If were all able to behave ourselves then standing is the way forward, better atmosphere by far! But sitting down keeps confrontation at a minimum. And allows the smaller folk and our disabled friends a chance to watch the game better.

I wouldn't sit by choice but trevo's right, I'm old enough to remember how scary it was when the violence really used to kick off. I'd love to see standing areas brought back but tbh it's going to be a while yet.
