two poor teams today, we didn't look "at the races" but still we could have won the game.
We gave a sloppy goal away AGAIN. Then left ourselves with alout of work to do.
Nash - 7 looked very steady two very good saves
Griffin - 5 very poor, should be dropped i think
Cort - 7 very steady, scored
Riggot - 6 steady, but gave the ball away too much
Pugh - 6 had a decent game, no outlet upfront though
Delap - 5.5 one of his poorer games, however played out of position
whealan - 6 tried to do the right thing but again no outlet upfront.
Diao - n/a. agree with pulis started well, nearly scored
Gallagher - 6 very poor first half, decent second half, but needs to do better than that!
Sidibe - 5 very poor, just heads the ball anywhere. how long can we carry this bloke two good chances again today and missed both
Cresswell - 5 very poor, too slow and too easily knocked off the ball. also has awfull first touch
Wilkinson - 7 decent game didnt need to do much
Zackuani - 8 defended very well when he came on, i was impressed
Bothroyd 6 didn't do much, wasn't given the ball enough, then again needs fitness.
I think the porblem today was in the wings and upfront. Sidibe and cresswell will never scoore when played together, gally looked too lightweight, and delap isolated and uninterested. As a team we lacke pace, and that was our downfall. that is what we need in the team, someone to run at players.
We massivily missed lawrence today and i will be grateful when he is back.
But for me we could and should have won today, but everyone else dropped points so we are fine.

i dont see how you can say griff was poor, i thought he did quite well
i do defo agree that many people are over reacting though, we were poor 1st half, much better 2nd i thought though and had quite a few chances to win it

Mama was the best player by far today. Sorry but i have to dissagree with that. Yes he wins headers, but all he does is head the ball anywhere. Often staright to their keeper. He missed two very good chances again today. The main problem with sidibe is that there is no end product, ever!

I thought Gallagher was particularly poor today. We have been wanting him to start a game and when he does he just did'nt look up for it!! He had his head down alot today and Pugh was trying to rally round him, encouraging him etc. Dont know what it was today but lets hope for a better performance next week. Keep the Faith

to be fair to Mama, despite winning almost every header, Cresswell seemed to be surprised by this fact and never once even looked likely to get on the end or even close to one of his knock ons.
Mama was poor overall I thought, but there were worse performers on the day.
Delap has been my player of the season so far, but his last two outings, both from wide, have been his worst for a good while. Stick him and Whelan in the middle for the last 6 games, and build the team around them!

cresswell was defo the weak link, i would have preferred to see bothrody instwad of him, for some strange reason though he seems un-droppable. he has been poor now for a while, he tends to hold onto the ball for too long and then gets tackled, that when he didnt put pugh through but instead took too many touches was very poor

But for me we could and should have won today, but everyone else dropped points so we are fine. The thing is, Bristol City, Watford, Brazil and Hull City were all away over the weekend and we've not really taken advantage of that and opened up a gap. Next week Bristol City are at home Norwich and Brazil are at home to Colchester. You have to expect both of those teams to claim the full three points, while Hull are at home to Watford. That's a game that could put us under real pressure if we don't get a positive result against Sheffield Wednesday, so in actual fact we're not really "fine" are we? Not winning today has put undue pressure on us to win next Saturday, and we now DO have to win at Hillsborough.
