Just read the report on the BBC web site and the managers' after match comments, which are as follows:
Stoke boss Tony Pulis on referee Mike Pike after his late arrival forced kick-off to be delayed by 30 minutes:
"It's a serious lack of professionalism by the referee. "I am amazed. He chose to travel down the busiest road in the country on the day of the game during a holiday period. It is astonishing.
"I had to drag my players in from the warm up, we were all sitting around for half an hour, and then I had to send them out again."
Blackpool boss Simon Grayson on the disruption caused by their late arrival:
"I can understand Stoke's frustration but we started off from Blackpool at 10am for a 75 minute journey and it took over four hours. "I told the players I wouldn't accept our problems as an excuse for a poor performance - they rallied to the call.
"It was a very good point and we could have got all three."
I let you decide who has a better handle on the reality of the situation.

How many managers would like to go in at half time and be able to tell your team the likely scores of all your opponents.
People made fortunes on the stock market by having information such as this.
In one sense a half hour delay was a Godsend.

Do people on here just see what they want. The comments that were made by Pulis were in relation to Salif and Cort picking up injuries they wouldn't normally get. He said that Stoke work very hard on fitness these injuries were prob caused by the delay in kick off and having to warm up twice. Now the moaning bunch translate it to be an excuse for playing bad. Now I am not the biggest fan of Pulis (as a person) but to make a moan out of nothing is just bloody stupid.

stafford - come on mate. Pulis has an excuse for every occasion.
He is the excusemeister.
That's the first accident that's EVER caused a kick-off delay at the Brit. How is the referee supposed to legislate for that.
Furthermore, as the accident was well reported at the time, why send the team out to warm up at all untill absolutely necessary? I listened to the radio and knew the kick off time was 3.30 at 2.30. I have to assume that Clueless had the same information as me, and before I had it.
Please don't pander to his pathetic "woe is us" attitude.
We were poor today, and he's just trying to hide his ineptitude with yet another excuse.

I suppose we can be thankful that Pulis didn't come out with, "Blackpool won the FA Cup in 1953, Nige."

totally agree why doesn't he just admit that stoke were very poor today and he contributed to that by putting cresswell up front and playing deep. that would get me to respect him more because its either him or the players are crap.

No it isn't - Boxing ( or New Years, can't recall which ) Day about 6 years ago against Oldham, actually - we kicked off at 4pm as the Oldham team coach was caught up in the aftermath of a nasty accident
we drew 0-0 and should have conceded in the last seconds, so when I heard yesterday's revised kick-off and the reason I knew we wouldn't win ;D

I don't listen to him anymore. He rarely says anything that doesn't rile me. But then again, I am a PHW. OS.

Pulis doesnt need to make excuses when you look at the league table. However for those who constantly criticise his every move-whats your excuse for lambasting a manager who has got us in to the best position for years

Swampy, will you change your picture. That bottom is far too nice to be disfigured by Rob Styles. OS.
