If we sign Walters who is not a striker or right midfielder but a hybrid of both then maybe just maybe were going to go.
4-2-3-1 which was the popular choice at the world cup with two holding players,no wingers and a solo striker.
Maybe Whitehead and Delap holding.
Etherington ,Tuncay and Walters told to just do their stuff further forward and Fuller alone up front.
could be the way forward for Stoke

I doubt it very much.
Formation under Pulis will always consist of one goalkeeper (he'd play two if he could)
4 Centre halves across the back four
4 big midfielders across the middle of the park one in the cage and ones who work as full-backs
1 striker/midfielder who ball can be 'launched' to
1 striker who can run off aforementioned striker/midfielder
This formation and tactic will never change.
It'll look even worse with players like Walters playing in it.

Is Walters coming with a new manager? If not then it will be 4-4-1-1 as it always has been and will be!

It's just another case of big lump who is naturally a striker playing right midfield I'm afraid e.g. Asaba
