Liam is worth more than Walters. At tops £1.5M for Walters. Like many others I keep a fit Lenny anyday - always gives his all and can be a match winner and set piece delivery is very good.

So we are buying Walters for 3m and Ipshit are using the money to get Chopra who is better than Walters. Is it just me or are we going backwards here. Plus we are selling Lawrence to replace him with somebody who is kept out of the Ireland squad by him.
Absolute fucking joke
Seriously if this happens I'll go fucking nuts sort it out Tone

I'm hoping this isn't the player MarkWolstanton was talking about on the NewSignings thread. He's been told we are signing a player costing a lot of money but well below his market value. If it is, someone is taking the proverbial somewhere...

Henry was a winger who could play upfront for Arsenal - he didn't do to bad at filling that role.
Let's wait and see. Not overly exctited, but I'm not gonna rip him apart before we have even seen him in a stoke shirt.

Maybe Lenny is staying as first choice (looks good so far in pre-season) and Walters is back up so that we don't have to put Delap on the wing again (shudder).

The club will have seen Walters many times over the course of 18 months as this is the length of time we've been after him if you believe the rumours. Apart from the odd live Championship game who on here can say they've even seen him play? Yet he's not good enough, a squad filler, worse than Lawrence. Priceless.
If the manager thinks he has the skills/character to add to the squad we have to back his judgement. Perhaps this signing will bring a few of you down from cloud cuckoo land, we're not in the market for 10/12m players earning 60k a week and rightly so imo as we need to build gradually.
The likes of Walters and O'Neill we're always going to be Pulis type signings and I expect him to bring both in along with a couple of big name loan signings at the 11th hour (from someone like Man City no doubt).
Some people spend too much time playing Football Manager and get carried away thinking we're Real Madrid or something........

Not that it convinces me anymore about signing him.

Give the lad a chance. To those who say he's never stood out in a season like Lawrence did in 2007/08, Walters scored 13 that season from the wing, in an Ipswich side that were far poorer than we were, not at all bad.
He also has a good scoring record at Ipswich, one in 4.5 having played mostly on the wing.
At 26 he's also got a lot of good years ahead of him.
Obviously he's not the first major signing we were hoping for (if he signs), but that doesn't mean there won't be any more exciting signings to come.
If he does join us then let's see him play before we condemn him and Pulis, remember the negativity when we signed Whitehead this time last year? He turned out to be one of our best performers.
