If Liverpool get Bridge and Wigan this Mexican player, Figgy will go to Stoke? Certainly hope so! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/KYqg3pYeaerc5lD_P7BR.gif)

Whatever else, you do have to tip your hat to Wigan's scouting network and just tip ours in the skip, if we could find it

Couldn't agree more, Knowlesy. We should be staying away from Fig at that ridiculous price.

I'd love that Mexican full back, he was shit hot against England in the game before the world cup and very impressive at the world cup, loves bombing forward too. Him and Matty would be frightening on the left.

Salcido is a great player. He might be 30, but for £2 million we definitely can't go wrong. Fig is way overrated due to that tap-in at the Brit in my opinion.

I’d be surprised if the 7 million tag being banded about is accurate.

Whatever else, you do have to tip your hat to Wigan's scouting network and just tip ours in the skip, if we could find it Take the point Suffolk about the comparative merits of the two clubs foreign scouting networks but more so Wigan's track record in the South Am market (Palacios / Valencia / Figgy even) but not reference Salcido.
He's been a talent for a long time & PSV is hardly t'other side of the world.
Add to that a crackin' turn out vs England & a not too shabby world cup & you don't really have to be Dave Kemp to spot that one do you?
But yes, said it on NS thread - much, much better player at a fraction of the cost.
& if we let this "needs Prem experience" twaddle get in the way of one as obvious as that, well someone needs a good talking to.

That he is so much closer to home and has recently been so 'visible' makes our disinterest even more unbelievable. We have a list (or seven) other teams have imagination.
Like my arse Stoke scouting and management.

he looked a very good player at the world cup but so did Diao once upon a dream ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) Whilst I wouldn't say no you never know if you'll quite get the same player that he was at the world cup. He obviously has pedigree though and I'm surprised a couple of the "bigger" teams haven't gone after him.

He wasn't just good at the World Cup though. He's been consistently good for PSV in the last few years at Champions League level.

Perhaps I could have kidnapped him, last week, when in Eindhoven, had I known. suffolkstokie, I chatted to some of your 'neighbours' who said that "Ipswich only lost 1-0, which was a lot less than expected'! There seemed thousands there, for the mutually commemorative (Bobby Robson) friendly, with tributes at half-time. partially the result of there being no charge, I suspect.

Yep that sounds like Ipswich fans - they simply dont know what to expect re Mad Eyes Keane this season so are leaning, quite rightly on the doom and gloom side ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

Am I alone in wanting Figgy?
He's a good player, very solid defensively. £7m is a bit steep but I don't think we'd pay that much - If we did then we would have signed him by now.

Nobody figured out why we don't want him yet?
'BOMBING FORWARD'.
Therein lies the clue!

I can just see Sunderland nipping in somewhen as Bruce regularly beats one off over him. Hope Im wrong although it's gone worryingly quiet on the Fig front.

quality player he's as talented as ashley cole if we have a chance to bring him in we have to take it far better then figgy but i can't see him fitting in tbh remember hoefkens, pulis don't like attacking full backs they are destructive to his style of play
