I used to hate playing them. I've never hated Vale, there was a lot of fakery around the rivalry, but I hated playing them. If we never played them ever again I wouldn't be sorry.
This season IMHO they will reach play offs. And I don't care if they go up or not.

Mumf on my coupon Vale are 16/1 for 1,2,3 finnish so it must be 4/1 for a top 6 finnish.
I will be having a couple of quid on them at 16/1 good value IMO.

Yes, but it would be nice to think we have a bit more class than the average Valeite. I don't hate them, some of my mates are Vale fans, it would be good to see them do well just for them. H |

No fakery on my part , my older brother is a lifelong Vale fan(Black sheep ) we have come to blows before now, as far as I'm concerned they have and always will be our No 1 rivals. |

Got a few fail mates, the way they go on about them they will go up as champions +150 goal difference, at least the quarter finals in the fa cup will win the league cup and the league tables do lie cos they are the best team in stoke

I've never understood why I'm supposed to hate them. Another Stoke on Trent Club and one that has almost always been in our shadow save for the odd 'moment' in the sun. Yes it got more intense for a few seasons when we were in direct competition and I understand that but, for the most part, they have been a complete irrelavance to Stoke City. Some tell me that I should hate them because they were arrogant and 'rubbed it in' when they were above us. Well how bloody unusual for football fans to 'lord it' over their rival when they get the chance (especially when they have been on the receiving end for most of their history).
Like many, I've got friends and family that support the Vale and lovely people they are too who feel just as passionate about their club as I do about mine. They've done well to get such a good manager in, had a good season last season and I think they'll at least make the play offs this coming season. Good luck to them.

But they're not really a rival, there are two clear divisions separating us, that's my point. Because we overlapped for a season and we were in the same for a few more doesn't really make a rivalry. |
