it is only my opinion by i think tha TP is one of, if not the best manager for picking no name players from other squads and making them play to their full potential, as well as getting a bloody good price for players leaving eg.
riccy fuller=£500k (i think but dnt quote me) Liam Lawrence= £500k what a steal this has turned out to be Glenn Whelan= £300k this is possible deal of the century, not only gettin him to come to stoke with prem clubs sniffing about him but a really cheap price as well. these are just a few of his brillient deals in the transfer market. Well done TP u whyly old fox

His record in the transfer market is largely very good. Every manager signs some lemons.

How about all his crap ones then? Parkin and Pericard anyone? PS Great managers WIN things. That's a naive way of forming a judgement on a manager. It's all relevant - you've got to account for resources and the like. A manager who can produce a competitive, mid table, CCC side on a budget similar to one in L2 is in my book a great manager.

Corty was a bizarre signing. I thought we were signing players who were capable of hacking it at a higher level? Clearly not....

TP knows how to spend money
Let's not forget
Akinbiyi - outcast at Palace, saved us from relegation, had an excellent season, sold on for big profit Duberry - outcast at Leeds, revitalised his career, captain and all round top defender, sold on to the Premiership Sidibe - who? exactly. plucked from obscurity. love him or hate him he's been instrumental Higginbotham - snapped up for peanuts, man of the season, sold on for silly money Matteo - Premiership has been, made captain, still rubbish. Oh well, can't win 'em all
We've got a cheap squad and we're top of the league. Nuff said!

He's got a great record by any standards, Higgy was probably the best piece of buy and sell. Whelan could be better still, and so could Ryan if he makes as much progress next season as this.
Can't argue about Pericard being a waste of space though. As for Beast, it's hard to judge by fee alone - anyone know what wage he's on, I suspect not that high?

Agreat wheeler dealer in the transfer market!
The money he's spent this season is mainly the money he's recouped in the sale of players he bought in for next to nothing!
As for ANYONE trying to say he a bad manager for bringing the likes of pericard/parkin etc is pathetic and should get that pulis chip off there shoulders as every manager brings in players that dont make the grade at certain clubs!!EVEN THE VERY BEST!
