I think that's the whole situation in a nutshell. Tonge is allegedly on £20k a week and supposedly priced Derby out of a move for him. Kitson will presumably be on even more than that. I don't see how Cardiff can afford them and I completely understand why they're desperate for cash. They shouldn't have been so greedy last summer or the summer before, really. Cardiff were not being greedy that summer MD, I have it on very good authority that it wouldn't have mattered how much money was on the table from stoke when we bid for Ledley, whether it was £6m £8m £or £10m they would not have accepted it and were point blank refusing to do buisness with us due to the infamous chants directed at Dave Jones during his visit to the Brit that year. When his assistant threw a ball at the ballboys face and then Dave Jones and the rest of his team starting giving the St Johns Ambulance guy abuse, which resulted in around 20,000 stokies shouting peado at Jones, He took exception to this and told Risdale that if Ledley was sold to us he would quit, Risdale backed him up and its ended up costing them, When ledley found out that he was not going to be allowed to speak to us he kicked off big time and told them if he wasn't allowed to talk to us he would run his contract down and leave for free, which neither Risdale or Jones believed it would get that far, guess they were wrong ;d I really hope that story is true. ;D

What an absolute tool that man is. His coach attacked a ball boy and a member of St John's Ambulance - from where I was sat behind the dugouts I didn't hear any paedophile chants (though I suppose somebody sat in row 1 to the left of the dugouts could have been giving him some) - he cried about it to the media to deflect blame from his coach. It was bad enough that he was pointing Stoke supporters out to the police and getting them chucked out, but talk about believing your own hype ;D Oh well, just another step towards the financial oblivion they deserve.

Surely I'm not the only Stokie who'd be more than happy if we didn't sign Joe Ledley! After all, is he really any better than Glenn Whelan - or even Danny Pugh?
As for comparable value in the transfer market I'd rather have Dave Kitson on his own than Ledley let alone offering to exchange Kitson and Michael Tongue for him.
It seems to me Stoke nearly always lose out financially on transfer deals.

MD you should have been in the boothen end mate everbody was shouting it ;d but it was before those who jumped on the prem bandwagon there was only about 20k in the brit the early kick off didn't help either,
jones was straight at us in the press after, slagging us and i think it was wolves fans off as they gave him the same shit, he is a right knob ;d he was also desperate for us to fail in our first season back up hence the "joe can do better than that" comments and the "they'll ony be up one year" shit he came out with

No club in their right mind should do business with Cardiff, where it leaves Cardiff owing you money.

If he signs he signs, it's gone on far too long.
I'd say fuck him and get Mark Noble.

Parkhead manager Neil Lennon is desperate to land the outgoing Cardiff midfielder and is locked in a fight with Stoke and West Brom for his signature.
The 23-year-old had an initial round of talks with Celtic three weeks ago but Stoke boss Tony Pulis stepped in and offered a four-year deal worth £20,000 a week.
But Celtic refused to give up and Ledley returned to Glasgow after the Hoops made a counter offer.
West Brom have also launched an 11th-hour bid but Lennon is refusing to let go on his target and hopes to pip the pair.
Ledley is expected to make a final decision this week after six weeks of negotiations.
Lennon has already signed Charlie Mulgrew and Cha Du-Ri as his reshaping of the squad gathers pace.

God I hope he signs for Celtic, can't believe we have spent so long chasing such an average player. No Pros I've heard rate him. Hartson says he's not good enough for the SPL never mind the Premier League and I remember Robbie Earle who is a midfielder saying he is very ordinary. I will keep praying.
