I read this morning that the Neymar (18 year old wonder kid) would be signing for them on loan for next season then moving to Chelsea. I very much doubt they could £18.5m for one player - However it does depend on how much we're giving them for Cole, Noble, Collison and Faubert (All speculation mind)

It really is hard to believe that a club with £100M debt is allowed to trade at all, let alone put in a bid of just under £20M. Have the authorities learned nothing from Pompey

Im not sure why all the negativity about West Ham and the money situation. They have in charge now a very good board who know how to run a football club. Certainly never let finances get away from them at Birmingham. I would be gobsmacked if they get into the same mess a Portsmouth.

Wow a post from a stoke fan that doesn't let anger cloud his judgement on the reality of the situation. This is a decent post i like they way you mentioned Brum, because when our owners took them over for a pittance they were bottom of div 2 playing in front of gates of less than 5k.When they sold brum for (80m) in dec 09 they were left mid-table in the prem (debt free) with average gates of 20k. We had to put up with ungrateful Brum fans coming on our board slagging them off for not investing properly etc,but they ran that club very well and sensibly lived within their means.I wish they we could have got them sooner rather than them Icelanders because we wouldn't find ourselves in the mess we were in last few years.

Brum weren't £100M in debt when Perv & Pervier took over though were they? The FA should slap a transfer ban on them until that debt is dramatically reduced IMO. The fact is that WHU is not a 'brand' in the way that Man Poo and Liverpool are, so it is harder for them to get out of the debt they are in.

Any club that sells a player to WHU and doesn't insist on cash upfront is asking for trouble. They are already in debt so any purchase would have to be with more borrowing and the interest rate will be quite high. A bad season and they will very likely be the next Pompey.
