Might open the door for Stoke to make enquiries. What - for £15m for Rodders - stoopid money

£15M was the price Whelan said to the press, which means he'll go for around £10M

And is Rodders worth 10 million? I don't think he is.

You can't knock that value.
£6m for a 25-year-old Argentinian international with a better than 1-in-2 record for the South American club champions.
I hope he doesn't fire as he could take Wigan out of that cluster of dross teams

Boselli wouldn't have been any use playing for us, he scores far too many goals, for TP to have even considered him and probably never even got mentioned by our South American holiday reps, sorry, scouting network anyway. Now someone with a goal scoring record like Heskey is right up our street and just what we need. And yes, I am being cynical. Now go prove me wrong TP and sign a real goal scoring forward.

Going purely on stats, which I know doesn't give a complete picture, it looks as though he's had one decent season at Estudiantes which to me would make it look quite a big risk to pay 6m for a player with one good season behind him. A lot like when Brum bought for Lucieno Figuero who had similar stats.
He may be good but for 6m he may be an expensive flop. Time will tell.

And is Rodders worth 10 million? I don't think he is. If C Cole is going for 12m then Rodders is worth 10m IMO.

I like his interview: "Also Maynor Figueroa who has done very well playing in England." "Back home we got to see his amazing goal last season against Stoke City, it was unbelievable." www.wiganlatics.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10429~2080790,00.html

I have never felt so sick than I did after that goal. We were killing them and then he did that.

He may be good but for 6m he may be an expensive flop. Time will tell. Not that expensive a gamble in my opinion, a premiership side probably can't sign a striker for less than £3m these days, let alone one with any reputation.

good signing IMO, yes expensive flop, but you have to take risks unless your willing to pay 2 or 3 times that for similar players in the Prem.
