Never Stoke Hull are notoriously difficult to deal with! And every other team we try to deal with, apart from Sunderland reserves..

im sorry no fucker will convince me that stoke should not have been aiming for the likes of hunt and moloko (sp)
stephen hunt scored a few goals last year for hull and would improve our team,
we should have at least beein the bidding, if not why not

We can't really judge things like this until the window is closed. If we get better, great. If we don't then we can say we missed out.

We should at least have been in for Mokololou, he's going to be a quality player, and would definitely have improved our squad.
Lack of foresight and ambition.

Chill out.
We’ve got Amdy Faye and Tom Soares.

Not bothered whatsoever for Hunt. Very limited player imo and not a patch on Etherington.

Wolves seem to be spending big money on average or untested players.

We can't really judge things like this until the window is closed. If we get better, great. If we don't then we can say we missed out. Agree with that. I essentially said the same on the Petrov thread. It'll be interesting to know how much he actually went for, because if it's around £2.5-3m I'd suggest that's excellent value. He works hard and tends to manage a decent goals/assists return. I suppose for those reasons I'm a little disappointed that we didn't make a move for him, although I'd definitely not be putting him in my C-list of potential signings, never mind the A-list.

6 goals in 27 appearances for hull suggests he would improve our team
His position is left midfield, although he can also play at left back and as an attacking midfielder

Decent-ish player. No more. Over priced at that & doesn't pass the "better than we have already" test for me.
Welcome to him.
Wolves are getting their fingers out though, eh?
And all with MMcC sat yabbering about footie in SA too.

Very limited player imo and not a patch on Etherington. but better back up than soares, tonge, pugh etc Surely we should be looking at players which would go straight into the starting 11, improving on what we've got in the team already? We won't become a better team otherwise?

I'm not too fussed about missing out on any Hull players to be honest, what I am getting a bit pissed off about though is our rivals hitting the transfer market nice and early so that they have the nucleus of their team in place before training starts. Brum and Wolves have done extremely well in doing their business early.

Good signing for Wolves (but wasn't Jarvis their player of the season on the left wing?)
But not as good as Etherington and wouldn't be able to do a job on the right - and wouldn't accept bench role at a club like us
So suppose he never really was a likely addition.

I must admit I prefer the appraoch taken by Wolves and Birmingham in terms of trying to sign players early and in time for pre-season it always frustrates me that we dont do more of that ,
Cant think of the defender, but he would have only been a squad player for us and not sure Hunt is that good but I'm sure he will do well fot Mc Carthy who is a very good manager ,
I think we need to get our act together better this season having seen the early fixtures which look pretty tough, need the first few points early doors to avoid being stuck and the bottom and then seeing confidence drip and no doubt fans moaning

Not arsed about any of brum or dingle signings to be honest. Why would we need players that did fuck all to keep Hull up last season? And as for brum! Well the proof will be in the pudding. I honestly think both will be fighting down the bottom next season. Will we be with them? Can't answer that until the window closes but I still trust in Pulis and co.

it is quite evident from the new signings thread that we wont be siging the likes of jenas, cole, pav and robbie keane even ledley is a fucking saga
the likes of hunt is good business at the price
we are chasing these big names and missing out on decent players who will improve us, if matty gets injured or suspended who the fuck is supposed to come in.
pugh? tonge?
for once in the prem it would be nice to have the squad more or less complete for pre season -
