Looks like our terrible football might actually get us somewhere. Are we happy with that? Personally, I'm in a quandary. I'd love us to return to our rightful place at the top. But I can't quite come to terms with being the club that throws any footballing principles to the wind in the pursuit of 'success'. Also, if our style of football can prevail, will football survive at all? Because it won't be a spectator sport any neutral would want to watch.

HG, I would have given my right arm for some direct football today but we didn't even get that. My view is that the quality will arrive with Premiership money. For now we just need to get in that position by hook or by crook...

Not for the first time tonight, I agree with Ruts.
I am all for constructive criticism and today was really disappointing, but you Hudson, are simply boring my friend.
We have done great this season, and by hook and by crook we just need to reach the promised land!

Fair point, Rutsy. But does Pulis really know what quality is?
Tayman, the points being made are clearly too difficult for you.

Shawcross, Riggott, Lawrence & Whelan are proof enough for me that TP knows football at Championship level. At Premier level, we'll have to wait and see...

If you are suggesting that I am some kind of retard then you are wrong mate, I am merely trying to stay positive, at the end of the day a point is a point, I couldn't care less how they come as long as they do.

Theres no point being like this kinnel,a stoke fan surely wouldn't have these feeling about his own club.just admit you are a fan of another football team.

He has probably been following Stoke before you were born BeB,so he remembers when we were a footballing side,So i reckon he is entitled to his opinion however clouded by the past it may be.

Don't think the football's terrible at the moment so much as strange, we're like a side in search of an identity but hanging in there. It's the weirdest way to be top of the table though. We're not the Route One side we're accused of being any more and on days like today I wish we were because it works. We had that amazing run, culminating in Wolves away, where we were end to end but with the dodgiest defence I've ever known in a Pulis team. Now we're tinkering our way towards whatever we're going to morph into next, but doing surprisingly ok thanks partly to good decisions to bring in wise heads like Nash and Riggott. Tone doesn't remotely sound like a manager who's losing it, he knows his own mind but for once I don't think anyone knows how we'll play next week. Which is exciting, I'm expecting a good outcome still, but it's just... well, strange!

if we finish top by playing football other teams don't like I couldn't care at all, just look at Brazil, apparently the team playing beautiful football, just got hammered 4-1 at home by a team in the bottom 3!

I said earlier today the team went into this match and I think what the match meant may have affected them. As TP said the sending off made them more nervous. In my eyes it is only natural that the team should be a little bit edgy it's close to a monumental end to a long hard season where they have had some very tough matches. I for one will now forgive shit performances simply for the fact that we get the points. Can you imagine PROMOTION holy shit!!!!

I'd love us to be top of the league at the moment playing scintillating carpet football. However, of the four teams in with a good chance of winning this league, two of them lost to teams outside the top six at home today (something we have not done in the league since early November) and the other team drew at home (to us as it happens).
Sorry Kinnell, I refuse to get depressed about todays results at the TOP of the Championship!
