RIP Trevor. Used to see him in the Beehive a few years back, always would say 'Hi'. True gentleman and another sad loss. Condolences to family and friends.

Very sad news. I was in same class at thistles and also lived across the road from him in Princess Road. Great lad and great footballer. R.I.P Trev and sympathy to his family.

Here's a picture of Trevor during his Newcastle Town playing days in the early 90's. If you don't know him, he's fourth from the right, back row. John Ritchie's son, Dave, is also in this team group, middle row, far right. My Bro was a good mate of Briss, he spent a good chunk of his footballing career playing for Castle Town and is on this photo. I remember playing against him at school in the Penkhull derby game (Thistles vs Peters), he was a nippy little sod in those days. Last time I saw him was at the Burnley game at the start of last season, always up for a bit of banter and a laugh was Trev. Sure going to need a big church for the funeral, he was a top bloke, R I P Briss.

Getting on for ten years now since Briss passed, one thing I remember about Trev’s generosity: he’d just been taken on as an apprentice at SCFC (seem to remember it was George Eastman who signed him but then Alan Durban came along and sold him to the Vale - might have got that bit mixed up?) Anyway, for the couple of years or so he was an apprentice @ Stoke, he got two season tickets for family but I don’t think his Dad or brother were big footy fans (although Colin was almost as good as Trev) Anyway, he says, “here you go Phil, enjoy these tickets with your Dad.” Faultless

Just been reading Mark Bright’s autobiography and he speaks highly about Trevor, I’d forgotten about the terrible car crash Trev was in whilst on his way to play for Macclesfield Town yet he got over multiple broken bones to coach for 20 years.

Same here he worse a really top bloke A number of years after he stopped playing football I had the privilege to work with Trev at a local ceramic factory.. He was nothing short of a truly lovely lovely gentleman. So quietly spoken with a fabulous sense of humour and completely grounded and would do anything for anyone. I am so proud and privileged to have known Trev.

If anyone on here has contact with Mark Bright it would be nice to send him these comments to show Stoke lads liked Trev just as much as the Vale team he was part of.
