Can anyone enlighten me more on this.
I've been onto the website and there are no details on the event listings. I have free tickets and I'm planning on taking the daughter and Mrs Starr to the Brit for the first time.
Someone said that there are other things on during the day so any news on this would be grateful.
Cheers
Ringo

They've just made it cheaper so that more people can attend.

What you will see on the Sunday will be what normally takes place before the last home game with a Ferris Wheel chucked in. The snake oil salesman has done you up good and proper this time

Especially as it lasts 3 hours!!!

Can't we get in for free and have Dicko as the entertainment like the Promotion Party? I suppose if 10,000 people turn up, then the club will have generated 3 weeks salary towards the James Beattie "Pay me for doing F**k all" fund?

I would be absolutely amazed if we got 2000.
We got around 12000 for that night when we got promotion.
Saying that I'll pay a tenner to see Danny Collins actually get close to another professional footballer.

I can't see there being many there at all. I'll be 100% honest and admit that the only reason I'll be there is that I have free tickets. Its a good opportunity to take the Mrs and little out to somewhere locally that's different to the Towers, Trentham Gardens or one of the cricket grounds or pubs I tend to take them on a Sunday afternoon.
It would be a dream come true if you could take your own beer and food in and Mrs Starr decides to drive. Bank Holiday weekend and all that....

not exactly the 8k they were hoping for, eh?
Quelle suprise. Do they think we're made of money? £15 for me and my lad is simply shockingly expensive in this day and age, just after purchasing season tickets etc.
Why couldn't they make it free to STH or at least a couple of quid?

The awards night was the subject of quite a heated discussion at the Fans Forum meeting last week
I must apologise that the minutes are not up yet
The evening will be of the format that usually takes place at a upto £2000 per table event inside
The awards event is one that has been organised by Andy Bililgham's team. There will be a stage errected on the pitch and several awards will be given out (goal of the season, youth player of the season, fans player of the season, players player of the season etc..)
As there is no sporting event going on, alcohol will be allowed to be consumed in view of the pitch
There are several other acts - Black Jacks etc
The Forum took objection to the price of the event to which the club responded that with the cost of the stage, acts etc it was justified.
The Forum then commented that fans dont know enough information about the event, poorly publicised and advertised (yet another venture with no information) and why, if it is to be a regular event, is it not a loss leader or done at cost so people get a feel of what they are getting for their money and, as with the membership scheme, fans are being asked to part with yet more money without an idea of what it is for.
I asked, if the people who had paid for the main event to take place after are having their price reduced from last year as they usually get to see this close up and interact with the players - the answer was no
There is capacity for 8000 at the event and you can pay upto £30 each and get a hot carvery bap, salad and chips (although, I think these were limited and have sold out).
Personally, I think the fact that the club had Pulis doing a recorded message shows both the fact that they are chasing their tails with the publicity of the event and also they have not had as many interested as they thought
Before anyone asks, the Forum were not consulted about this beforehand as all of this could have been raised before we again have to try and correct things after it has been published.
I have a serious 1-1 meeting with Tony Scholes on the agenda about several items and the fact that the club seem to be as disorganised off the pitch at times as on it, will be on the agenda

I think the whole format and the fact that its on a Bank Holiday weekend is a great piece of marketing by the club. The first event of its kind and one which could and should be well received by most stoke fans. What I can't or fail to justify is the fact that it'll cost a family of four (two adults and two childs) £30. Thats scandalous and certainly smacks of a we don't care approach to the fans. Cheers for feeding back the info and I look forward to seeing your minutes following your meeting with Mr Scholes.

probably the wrong thread gaz but all the (non football) off field problems the club have had lately such as this, membership etc could be easily solved if they consulted the FF first for a bit of feedback, i appreciate they are a business but things like this and other stoke boards, the fans forum could be used for FREE market research, that is even before they thought about official questionairres from the club by way of post or the website.
it is common sense, and i cant wait for the day when each club is made or actually welcomes some sort of fans representative on the board just to sound out ideas before they make a hash of stuff
at the moment we as a club take a step forward - cheap st etc then a step back with these poorly thought out hairbrained ideas

This event has got "family" written all over it - so I think it would have been good to have it free to kids (accompanied by an adult).

Is there any actual itinerary for the whole thing available anywhere so that, for example, I could completely miss all the 'entertainment' and just turn up to see the new kits and the awards?
It wouldn't matter who Stoke signed up to come and perform, the fact is that they all still have to use the same sound system that we get on matchdays and so everything will appear to be Albanian Folk music accompanied by Tuvan throat singing.
