The half-time team talk.
It was interesting to read the article about Liam Lawrence and his preference for a verbal whipping at half time for perceived under-performance.
This contrasted markedly with the interview given by Mr.Pulis after the Burnley match where he said that he does not rant at the boys during the interval because they are professional bunch of lads (and will always try their best)...!Mmm,interesting psychology methinks.
If there is one example of the 'hairdryer' being used to little effect it is possibly Roy Keane?
So, apart from an orange, what method do you think is the best motivator for the half -time get together?

if i was a manager, and the team were playing crap, i would let them sit there whilst i dont say a word. that would get them thinkin about what they've done in the first half not having someone moan at them.
it could work!

He did that before, Marcus Hall ended up taking over. Then we scored and everyone gave hugs and kisses for Marcus.

This thread brings to mind Gazza's first game for England. The manager at the time (was it Robson?) before the game told Gazza that, as he was new to the team, he'd pull him off at half time. Gazza told him that was great and he really looked forward to it, because all he got at Newcastle was an orange.

I think a good bit of stand up comedy would go down well
