Well done Pulis for knocking Simmos confidence even further. Once hailed as the best keeper to in the last couple of decades to wear a stoke shirt now bench warming for a failed Wigan loanee.

Cmon Spiderman, Simmo has pretty much played every game over the past however long he has been with us. Is it near on four years now? surely the guy deserves a breather now and then

Competition for places can only be a good thing. Look how Fuller responded to being dropped last night. Simmo won't feel hurt by it but will make him try that bit harder in training. I have no problem with it at all

So enlighten us all how did Fuller respond to being dropped last night? A goal or 2 maybe or did he set up a couple of easy chances for his team mates?

"Oh oh look at me, look at me....." . .. . the traditional cry of spiderman! Simmo has by all reports been feckin useless for most of the season - the amount of goals we've conceded pretty much shows this! In the space of two games we have a clean sheet - prior that we managed just 1 in 15 league games! Obviously Simmo was commanding the defence so well!

I doubt that it is a conincidence that we have only let in one goal in the 2 games since Nash started. Simo has been a good keeper for us down the years but this season he has been poor on crosses, not vocal enough and has not commanded his area. I hope he gets back to his best but at the moment Nash is Stoke's best option. Fulop might have been even better but Nash looks a decent alternative.
Thanks for concentrating my mind, spidey. ;D

Perhaps the last 2 games only conceding 1 goal is more to do with Riggott and Pulis's ultra defensive approach to the games. Given what nash has shown or had to do I doubt very much that Simmo wouldn't have done it exactly the same.

spiderman, Simo's been a great shotstopper all season, no-one's arguing with that but in the absence of a leader he's been crap at marshalling the defence and not great at commanding his own box so it's been pretty obvious that he's lost the confidence of the players in front of him, to an extent at least. Ok Nash has only been here two minutes but as a short term fix to that problem he seems to be doing really well and I think TP's made the right call about leadership and confidence being the more important issues right now.

Presents don't have to have relevance Spidey. It is the thought that counts. I think it is great that we might sign another keeper to give Simo some competition and Nash is a valid option and Fulop another. I thought I'd share Nash's thoughts on the subject with you because I like you - you bring something to this board that few others do.

Second top scorers in the league.

Simmo has been for ages.. Cant remember the last time he came out for a cross and actually took it. Great shot stopper but poor at commanding his area.. Nash is no Fulop but I prefer him to Simmo..

Simmo has no command of his area which lets him down, im sure when we see simmo again it will be the simmo of old as i think he was getting a little complacent. The last couple of seasons he has had no real threat for the 1st team shirt

Might be down to the fact we have no leader in the back four any more to give him the kick up the arse when its needed as much as cort and shawshank play their part neither are natural leaders like Duberry
