Not sure if anyone has posted this/anyone cares but former trainee Richard Keogh has joined Cheltenham on a months loan He was part of the Robins team that magnificently slayed Leeds last night in their own back yard.

Another youngster destined for greatness who we let go.
FFS Pulis - sort it out.

Yes kinder, exactly my point ???
Merely letting people know as they might know Richard or seen him for our reserves a few years ago

I was gutted and surprised when TP let him go. I've seen him look decent a few times on TV over the past few years. BUT, at the end of the day, he has not impressed several lower league managers enough to get regular starts and better contract offers and you can say the same for many other players we have released who looked good in Stoke's reserves.

John-I agree, he did look good in the reserves
Do you remember the farce when it was announced he had joined Burnley and then a couple of days later it transpired the move hadn't gone through and Bristol City jumped in? (probably just me- I have a weird memory!)

No, Knowlsey, my memory is just as weird - I remember it as well. I even remember wondering if we could resign Keogh as TP had gone by then.
Brian Wilson is another who I was gutted to lose - he put over a superb cross which Ade fluffed just before he opted to go to Cheltenham. I see he is described by Brizzle as a midfielder these days. Looked a natural wing back to me although we played him at Fullback.

Ahhh, Brian Wilson. I used to think he was brilliant. I lived in Gloucestershire for about 10 years and saw Wilson at Cheltenham on a regular basis (abouit 10 times a season or so).
He did really well for them and has progressed nicely. In hindsight, we probably just made the right decision to let him go, but merely for the lads career
On the subject of re-signing. Look at the fella on the left. Kevin Keen. We released him, and then new manager (I think it was Megson at the time) decided we couldn't afford to lose him so we re-signed him in the same summer!!!

He made a big difference last night. Back 4 very solid. Leeds, not as good as Southend. Think they will have another season down here.

Isn't it funny how the so called footballing experts on this message board were calling for Pulis's head because he wouldn't play these young starlets.
