Terrific away support burnley I thought , but I expected more from a manager who purportedly promotes 'total football'.
Yes, they can play a bit and better than us for good parts but also, what a niggly time wasting shower they were too !
As for the penalty that fortunately went in off the goalies head - no more than we deserved and, what if Gallagher's pile driver had got through ???
We huffed and puffed again - and for the first time - raised a head of steam going into the home end- all too brief and fragmented though - we just cant buy a win, we are working hard but nothings really coming off, they'll just have to play through it I suppose.
I Would also add, we haven't become a bad side overnight, as some twonks would have you believe either!
And for all you 'supporters who left 20 minutes form the end again
you all missed the best bit of the game for the sake of saving some time on the blooming car park
good for you !
18,500 wasn't bad though
last word - the gardeners retreat is still selling by far the best pint of mild I have ever tasted anywhere anytime ever !!!
its the Mansfield dark mild
about the most positive thing I will recall out of the day really !

I suppose it now totally wrecks my 'romance of the cup my arse threads'
my favourite bit --- Sir ALEX and his south american Gimp, QUEEROZXT or something like that - bemoaning the referee daring to let the oppositon 'get into em' .
(plenty more of that coming your way sir ALEX ---- if stoke get up that is !!!!!)
a PREM CLUB WILL STILL WIN IT THOUGH -I just hope west brazil have a long succesful injury and booking strewn, cup run though -to boot
ah well ((((sigh)))) off on holiday today - Maldives - back just before easter --good luck chaps - hope we are still in with a shout

Tony, I thoughly enjoyed the game from start to finish and in all truth after the first ten minutes, Burnley were never really in it and spent the bulk of the match protecting their lead.
The problem was that because we were always chasing the game the frustration of not getting level is sometimes confused with the notion of playing poorly. I thought we played well enough to level and maybe even go on to win it, which is made almost impossible unfortunately by continually playing a centre forward who couldn't hit a cow's arse with a banjo.

Just a frustrating day from my perspective - we just dont seem to get the rub of the green at present -SAYING THAT Akinbiyi's open goal miss was shocking too !
just seen it on the championship
I just hope we get over this rough patch too and ye,s Definitely Gallagher should get a start with Pugh In midfield

Y-o-y I agree 100% I thought we pretty much dominated the game for the entire 90 minutes Burnley got a one goal lead with their first attack and could have made it 2 but apart from them two chances I can barely remember them getting within yards of our goal.
Like everyone I was frustrated to seeour domination not turned into good chances but Burnley played very much like we used to under TP' They simply put numbers behind the ball and were well organised and hard to break down. Glad to see our never say die attitude pulled us through!

Burnley played total football are you taking the piss? They had 2 chances scored off one while our defence was sleeping and Akinbyi (remembering who resurrected his career) did us a favour and missed an open goal from 2 yards. Nash apart from picking the ball out of the net after 2 minutes didn’t have a thing to do. If that’s what you call total football then you’re welcome to it. Stoke should have won yesterday Fuller missed a golden chance and we had a stone wall penalty decision turned down. As for a pint of mild in the Gardeners arms, well if it’s a pint of slops that rocks your boat you’re welcome to that as well Gouranga.

I too thought we should have had a pen for the foul on Fuller but watching it on TV suggests otherwise.
