Don't know.
Posted yesterday, that his behaviour and personal conduct with Ipshit did him no favours and that he has always struck me as very immature in interviews etc.
Sadly, this only adds to that belief. Yes, we all like a good gallon or so - but it appears this was when they were under curfew on tour.
(The Pompey thread also reminds us of the time when he was caught firing shots of his dick around on mobile phones. Again, not the most considered of actions.)
And it all has to lodge a very big "?" mark against the intelligence of a professional athlete for doing it anyway, curfew or not.
So there is definitely a "side" to him shall we say. One that i don't think will do us any favours longer term.
Whether TP knows the full extent of that "side" and feels he can cope with it is ano matter.
And, if he were to score the goals that fired us into the Prem, would we all care, is quite ano.

Personally I'd be happy for us to take him until the end of the season as I think he'd give us something a bit different and score us a few goals.
But I wouldn't even contemplate signing him if we went up and I'd be surprised if TP did given that his good mate Harry obviously doesn't rate him.
He's a good goalscorer but that's not enough to succeed in the Prem these days. Gary Linekar was the ultimate poacher but I doubt even he'd get 20 goals in today's Prem - you need skill, speed, strength and good aerial ability to do well these days and Nugent has got none of those qualities in abundance.
You've only got to look at the different impacts Jones and Chopra have had at Sunderland to know what we should be looking for in a striker should we go up.

I just want a night out with Nugent, Liam, Hoult and Vinny!
;D
PS - Roy Vernon used to get up to similar antics nearly every FRIDAY night in the Thistleberry, then run onto the pitch while finishing his Capstan full strength.

As above i have my doubts about his character and his "fit" in the dressing room accordingly.
Like you, i also doubt we would actually want him in the Prem - he clearly can't hack it and the Jones / Chopra e.g. is a good one.
Still we need to get there first and yet i doubt Pompey would want a deal with no view to a permanent?
(Hence the thread title: i do believe they want shut.)
Tricky one.
