Deal would have been done earlier only Portsmouth / Nugent dont want to be seen publicly as messing Ipswich around

Deal would have been done earlier only Portsmouth / Nugent dont want to be seen publicly as messing Ipswich around Could be a bit late for that. Hasn't Magilton already told him to "sod off "? Possibly a bit late for a face-saving exercise now. Sounds like Magilton knows full well he's been royally messed around by Nugent who's taken him on a ride for over 2 weeks. Any idea what our deal would involve - and how close to fitness he is? Loan fee of several hundred thousand plus ALL his 20,000+ wages plus a bonus on promotion "with a view to a permanent move" seems to have been what was on the table from Ipswich. Would our deal be similarly exorbitant?

He is not on as much as people on here are saying, i understand it to be 20k tops & any future deal on both sides is very much reliant on if we gain promotion.

(Albeit, we've always got the "it didn't work out David ol' son" card to play if needs be.)

Didnt say we messed up the Whelan deal at all, your getting confused with someone else- ask LiverpoolStokie, Knype etc etc, i said Whelan was coming for months and there are a few on here that will back me up on that.
Nugent IS on around 20k thats common knowledge so if you dont know that i suggest you get out more.

You'd have to think a wage of around £20,000 is minimum for a player you've deemed worthy of spending £6-7m on.

Now that be because of his impending move or because he's still injured.

There are a few on here who have decent sources I believe, but for obvious reasons do not want to make that public.
What is clear is that we are, or have been, talking to Pompey about Nugent. I would be very surprised if even our Gary could predict with any kind of certainty that he will be signing next week unless the likes of Scholes and Pulis have a habit of giving hourly updates to him or his source.
IMHO, I think we will be put off by the big cash sums involved, but Pulis will want to bring someone in as it is surely only a matter of time before Ricardo's temper gets the better of him and he misses two games. Personally, I think we could end up pursuing the likes of Daniel Sturridge from Citeh.

Sturridge (from citeh is an option for sure but aren't we too near the business end of the season now to blood a new kid that might flop?
Given his predilection for safe bets, i think he'll want a proven performer at this or preferably a higher level.
For me, that rather narrows the field:
Nugent, Earnie or Healey.
