insider - eusty leaving was portrayed to us by scfc & eusty that it was a last minute thing & that they only found out on the morning. timmis mate, I'm pretty sure I read in an article where they had an interview with Eustace, claiming that TP was aware of the bid/interest from Watford on the Monday and waited to tell SJE after the Charlton match on the Tuesday. This Nugent malarkey - would be good if it were true insider! Got no real reason to doubt you I guess, but you can understand people's cynicism. I for one will wait until something official has been announced before I get excited. The info is appreciated by me anyways, espcially if it proves to be correct!

no time wont tell that at all.
the whelan deal was practically done in september, doesn't take a crystal ball to work out that we were going to get him in.
funny how you didn't come on with the riggot info, a deal that wasn't in the press prior to happening.
you've done nothing but illustraite what has already been said, not really insdider knowledge is it?

I quite like all this rumour stuff..it helps to keep this board so active. "Insider info" seems a genuine guy & I can understand his conflict between a desire to inform and his need to maintain confidentiality. His street cred will be enhanced a) if it is true b) if he only posts transfer rumours occasionally(providing they are correct of course) To all you non-believers - cut him some slack. If it is not true so what? We have all been supporters long enough to realise that raising our hopes/expectations prematurely is part of the fun! However, I do agree with Sheikmomo that "keith" would have been a better choice of username and I think "insider" has been so shocked by the cynicism of some that he may never post under his "real' name again.

'a deal that wasn't in the press prior to happening.' 'funny how you didn't come on with the riggot info'
Actually was Timmis- read it myself about a week before he signed- picked up a Sunday UK paper in the pub and was mentioned was rumoured to be joining on loan. Can't remember which paper as read about half a dozen that afternoon.
Certainly all pieces seem to fit re Nugent joining-being linked left right and centre- Magilton claims he had no contact with him- then throws his toys and says he can go where he likes- then claims despite not contacting him he told him was injured.

the whelan deal was not in the balance,it was a done deal or eustace would not have gone. Why wasn't it completed until everyone had given up and gone to bed then. Just for the danger element? Maybe Pulis shaves his spuds with a bowie knife for a similar sensation.

Sheikh, the Whelan deal was announced late at the request of Sheff Wed to sort ofjustify only getting Kav in on loan and no spending the 500k on a permanent signing

Owen Coyle said he spoke to him on deadline day - how could it have been a done deal in September ?

'done deal' is perhaps the wrong phrase
a deal was on the table for some time (re Whelan).

Insider, I hope you know something. However, Im not sure that you are accurate with your info. You say that the Whelan deal was 'done', yet, Whelan himself has stated that the deal was a late one. Even Pulis said it was touch and go. Either you are lying about that or the club is.

If it's true or not i have to admit i love all the rumor info quite fun to see people's dream signings and every now and then an actual signing.
Even if this Nugent info signing turns out to be all b.s then atleast it's helped me waste 5 minutes of time that id spend doing nothing anyway reading all the responses to this post atleast it's something to do.
And if it's true fair play and we have a decent signing
this board would be boring without "insider info"
