We seemed to be a little more competitive under Blakes stewardship, is he, or is there another reason why we've dropped off so much...?

I thought the position was identical under Blake and the mouthy Gordon Bennett?

"the mouthy Gordon Bennett?" Not sure what you mean by that comment. Would you like to clarify?

Slagging off Stoke when he went to join 'Olly's revolution' at Plymouth.

I think given his frustration at the lack of funds being targeted to the Academy at that time, balanced against what they were actually achieving, both he and Noel had the right to voice their opinions. How many of the Stoke coaches and lads have gone on elsewhere, to pursue a successful career elsewhere in football? That's life.

They ‘achieved’ bottom spot in the league didn’t they? I have no axe to grind with Gordon Bennett just the scaremongering Pulis haters (of which you were one) who held him up as some sort of beacon for all that is good only to see him slate the club which had given him a good living previously.
When is the Academy closing by the way, I’m sure you and the other Academy mafia assured us it would be closing last summer?

Sheikh, You're wrong with your facts again, I'm afraid, but typically you read or hear one thing then believe your own twisted version of events. You never change.

Something is clearly very wrong at Academy level. We simply never get into a position where players are good enough to break into the squad, and looking at this they are not good enough to compete with lads their own age.
It's piss poor for us to struggle in such a manner. Either the coaching or the talent is to blame. Perhaps KE you could shed some light on this?

Erm so you were'nt on here almost daily from the minute Pulis returned to the start of this season doom mongering about the academy and telling us Pulis eats youth footballers? I could have sworn you were.

and looking at this they are not good enough to compete with lads their own age. It's not as bleak as the table shows. They drew 2-2 v ManUtd last weekend and that is an indication of how well things are developing. Peter Coates' commitment in putting funds in place, to secure the Academy future, is well known. I do still have some doubts about Pulis' view on bringing young players through from the Academy. Can't take away from him what he's done with the first team though.

Has your lad got a sunday league club yet KE? ;D He's doing okay, thank you for asking. Also go and have a look at Plymouth, Macc Town, Port Fail and others to see where other good ex-Stoke Academy players have ended. Stoke can't keep them all. And it's still early days under the new Academy management. Let's give it another twelve months to see the changes take effect.
