ALMOST the perfect evening (fcuking West Brom!) but tonight just shows that there's plenty more excitement to come.
It's up to the staff and players to wipe out the memory of the the last two games and concentrate on 3pts against Burnley.
I have a feeling it could go to the wire with all four clubs, no-one seems to want to take the bull by the horns.......

It's also up to the FA to sort out the disgraceful standard of reffing that is going around the Championship. D'arshole must be laughing his cock off after the lame apology and then getting another chance to screw us by being given the WBA match.

Absolutely correct header post --- lots of twists and turns to come - we're due to start playing well again soon and the newer payers will have bedded in
and we're in the mix - thats the main thing !

Looking tricky. Can't afford to drop many points, methinks 1 Bristol City 36 3 65 2 Watford 36 14 62 ------------------------------- 3 Stoke 36 11 62 4 West Brom 35 29 61 5 Charlton 36 10 56 6 Plymouth 36 12 55 -------------------------------- 7 Ipswich 36 9 53 8 Hull 35 5 53 9 Burnley 36 1 51 10 Wolverhampton 35 -1 51 11 Crystal Palace 36 4 50

linx: When any team loses 2 games on the bounce, the league will no longer look pretty reading! Our blip needs to end NOW, unless we can forget automatic!
Edit: It does look as if that Watford match could be HUGE!

good results overall tbh
obv WBA won & Bristol C will see that as a good draw but not upset to see Charlton not win whislt Watford not winning is a corking result for us.
Norwich & Watford away the same week looks damn hard.
Stoke need a boost now

1 Bristol City 36 3 65 2 Watford 36 14 62 ------------------------------- 3 Stoke 36 11 62 4 West Brazil 35 29 61 5 Charlton 36 10 56 6 Plymouth 36 12 55 -------------------------------- 7 Ipswich 36 9 53 8 Hull 35 5 53 9 Burnley 36 1 51 10 Wolverhampton 35 -1 51 11 Crystal Palace 36 4 50
This is a much more realistic table as we all have, with the exception of West Brazil, played the same number of games.
What is positive is the gap we still maintain between us and 7th place. We don't want it but it's helpful to have a Plan B.
Personally I don't know which way to call it. Before Preston I thought automatic was well within our grasp. Now the doubts have started creeping in.
Is this just a blip or worse? A good result on Saturday, not just the score but the way we play, will restore my optimism.

rick I think you speak for about 90% of Stokies when you express your doubt. I don't think any of us know which way to turn at present. A convincing win at home to Burnley and we will romp home as Champions, anything less and we may not make the play offs. These are the emotional U-turns that we are experiencing at the moment. I have started listening to Buddhist Chants to get the positive Karma up and soothe the negative. I am listening to one now in Thai which roughly translated says "We are going up, I say, we are going up" (My Thai is not brilliant so I may have misunderstood - but the message works for me!) Hold on to your hat...the run in will be an emotional ride!

Looking at our remaining fixtures the most tricky ones are the 2 away games after the Burnley game - Norwich and Watford. Providing we are picking the points up at home I see no reason why we still shouldn't go up automatically as the last seven games for me are a lot easier than our rivals. I reckon we will win 5 and draw 2 of the last 7 games. However I still think we need to win at either Norwich or Watford (preferably Watford). Go for it Stoke we can always fall back on plan B.

With twelve games left, I thought we could afford to lose two or three games, preferably not against either Watford or Brizzle, so that would suggest we can only afford to lose one more!
It is still so tight that 7 wins/6 wins three draws out of the last 10 games could do it (83 points), so maybe we could still lose a couple more and make it, but it's gonna be damned close and we have got to get at least a win and a draw against Watford and Brizzle (if I could choose, a draw v Watford and a win v Brizzle!).

Stay calm everyone!
I think we could draw the next 3 tough games and still go up automatic. I thought we'd get beat at Norwich, but their form seems to be levelling off, and i've always had Watford down as a 0-0.
Our run in does look better, and I still think that Bristol have really tough games, will drop points and will tire. By the time they play us they could have settled for play offs. Have always thought we'd get 84 points, and I think 83/84 points will win the league, as anybody can drop points in any match.
Enjoy this nailbiting but exciting run in. Its a long time since we had a situation like this, where every game counts, as well as our opponents games. I'm lovin it!
