Hate to say it....watched the game again on returning home...QPR Good movement...ball to feet ...Quick passing..always that spare man..... Have to say we were beaten by a side that had done it's homework....Maybe we did have a 60 /40 possession but we were punished...
Sidibie Out.... Gallagher in....
Gally is up for it ....!

Was the best player we had in his first spell, his goals kept us in this league and if i remember rightly wasnt it his goal that saved us the shame of losing to Tamworth in the cup ?

If nothing else, the QPR game showed that we can play a bit of football, without having to hoof it up to Sidebe, it was good to watch at times despite the result and only playing with 10 men.
The sooner we get used to playing this way and not have reliance on the uglier side of our game to force results our way, the better we'll get.
Maybe there is a plan 'B'.

We do rely on sidibe alot we allways have its the style tp plays with. But i would like to see gallagher start playing from the off.He is the type of player who can change the game in a second, and it would be a waste as we got him here and didnt get the best out of him until his loan spell is over.

I think you have all read it wrong,if you have taped it go back and watch again. They approached us as we would approach say Man U or Chelsea, they never gave us a second on the ball without attacking whichever player had the ball. It is a very difficult system to play against. They also marked Mamma with a guy who was as good in the air as he was. I do think we needed Gally on though.

I was very impressed with QPR. Got men behind the ball - but in the right areas - pressed us all over the field, worked hard to support each other and when they broke they spread well and made intelligent passes. They must do a lot of work on counter attacking. the kid from West Ham Ephraim looked good - future Joe Cole?
They pressed in the areas of the field that we sometimes withdraw from - wide areas, 10 yards inside our half and because they won most of the second balls they had possesion in the areas that count. Still we are second they aren't but they might be a good bet for next season via play offs if they bring in 3 or 4 good players.

Sibide had a poor game, but I think it's unfair to disregard all the outstanding games he's had for Stoke based on one off-colour performance. Gallagher was exceptional and the only player on our side to show touch, creativity and the ability to find his own man. He must start against Burnley.
QPR had all those things - touch, creativity and passing to feet - plus pace and reminded me of the way Charlton beat us and exposed our lack of those things.
If we are truly going to go up and compete once we get there, we will need more of those attributes for ourselves. We began to show a bit more of it in the last 20 minutes, but that isn't enough.
Come on City!

No really
They found Diao out and we could have told them that before the game
They play decent football but Leigterwood admitted he just let fly with his wrong foot and it flew in past unsighted Simmo for the first. The second was just shocking (non) marking by Diao
Third was offside
Get back on our game (without Diao) and we will be ok

Caliban - let's hope so! (but I doubt it)
Sidibe has a specific role in the side, which makes it hard for him to score regularly. I honestly believe that if he was the main striker, not merely a target and foil for Fuller, that he'd score double figures each year. I don't think he's every going to a 25 goal a season player, but his goal tally would be increased, along with his confidence no doubt.
As for QPR, they did their homework and played us out of the game. As did Preston and I suspect a few others will as well because we're quite easy to read.

sorry can't agree with sidebe hitting double figures,he cannot hit the target and has no power in his shot end of .TP must have had a sharp look into the future on sunday if we go up of course so we might as well get out of the habit of playing "the sidebe way" its time to play football now and Gally must start.
Its also worth noting that everytime diao plays whelan does not have as much impact on the game, when he goes off or doesn't play whelan becomes a different player, must be covering for him he and pugh in centre mid would be good ......as long as they were given the ball!
