taken from sky sports www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11701_3224664,00.html Steve Bruce is ready to allow Wigan Athletic defender Andreas Granqvist to head out on loan. The Swede has made 16 appearances for the Latics this season, but has not featured in the first team for two months. He has been linked with a temporary move to Stoke City and Bruce admits he is prepared to loan out Granqvist. "We've had a couple of enquiries about Andreas, and now I've brought in Erik Hagen, we're in a position to let him go out," Bruce told the Wigan Evening Post. "He has a big future here, but a bit of experience of playing somewhere else can only benefit him." Stoke have signed Chris Riggott on loan from Middlesbrough, but could look to set up a deal for a second Wigan player. Carlo Nash has already agreed to move to the Britannia Stadium and Granqvist could be offered the chance to join the goalkeeper in the Potteries. could be good for the run in

Radio Stoke said earlier that they expect the Nash deal to be finalised today. Can't see us getting Granqvist now the Riggott deal's done. Maybe it was either/or?

Weve just signed Riggott and surely we would be much better off getting a goalscorer in the mould of Nugent/Earnshaw in the team to shoot us to auto promotion? SGS

I'd rather we'd got "Panzer" Hagen instead! He's a bit like Japp Staam on steroids. Very handy.

Wigan Athletic defender Andreas Granqvist is set to be allowed to leave the JJB for a loan spell either back at Helsingborgs from whence he came or down the M6 to the Potteries.
Latics boss Steve Bruce confirmed that there had been a couple of enquiries for the big Swede and said that a loan spell would do him the world of good
It is understood by Vital Wigan that both Stoke City and Helsingborgs have made the enquiries about taking him on loan

I look at it more this way, who would've thought a few years back we would be signing a man united player so that he can play for england
