I'm thinking this could be a simliar thing as the Lampard and Gerrard for England debate. Can they really play together? For their 3rd goal yesterday, they both went into the box to attack the ball. Leaving Gally and Whlean back as "the defenders" Is it time for corners to leave one back and one attacking the ball... Switch them around. Also for the 2nd goal, both players went for the same ball. leaving leigertwood open If I was picking the team I would have Shawcross in over Cort any time. He's a lot better defender than Cort is. I know Cort score us goals, but would we really need him to score all his goals if we had a more solid CB (Riggot maybe) Shawcross, yeterday was orgainisgisng the defence and comanding the 18yard box, surely this should have been done by Simo or cort, as he's lot more experienced than Shawcross 0or even Griffin....He's experienced and out captain... Shawcross for captain??

the third goal pissed me off. obviously couldnt see it was offside. why oh why bring cort and shawcross up the pitch if your going to pass the ball to there wall. they were chasing shadows as they ran back to keep up with the play

Possibly the time has come to give Ryan a rest and replace him with Chris Riggott. I'd do that in preference to leaving Cort out because it is his first full season and Cort does have a lot more experience. They SHOULD be able to play together, but whether they are actually good enough is entirely a different matter.

Shawcross is due a break he just doesnt look steady at the back at the minute.I think we need to put someone with more experience in there for the remainder of the season with the position that we are in.

Its a really strange situation because individually they are both excellent but as a unit they appear to be very fragile and prone to making schoolboy mistakes. I couldnt say who should be left out but Riggot will defo help in shoring up the defence

We either need a commanding keeper or a commanding centre half, no communication between the 3 at the moment at all, if we keep Simonsen in goal then we definitely need a leader at the back because my heart sinks whenever he is relied upon with the ball up in the air and i can't see either Cort or Shawcross being the voice at the back.
