Always reserved judgement where 'Triffic Tone' is concerned..
Some of the football he's served up over the past years has been dire but there's no doubting his popularity with most players, peers and many other managers in the game.. He appears to be able to motivate his pool of talent and convince good players to come to the club..
Having watched his post match interview, I now understand his position of respect in the game.. I thought he was:
1. Clever in not slagging the prick D'urso.. Used his words wisely and strategically to hopefully get Griff off the hook..
2. Humorous in his dealings with the moronic interviewer who seemed to be delighted at Stoke's misfortune.. He made him look a complete dick..!!
We need a popular manager at Stoke City to get favours off some of the bigger clubs.. After that interview, I'm now convinced he is the man..
Fair play 'Triffic'..!
