After his woeful start to the season, I think we have all realised what an integral part of the side he has now become.
This was highlighted yesterday. In the opening 5 minutes, we had 3 'long throw opportunities'. Without him, one of our major weapons has gone.
Not only this but his workrate in the centre of the park was missing. Whelan didn't look as good as recently, whereas Diao just isn't the answer at the moment.
I'm looking forward to Rory returning on Saturday when hopefully we can get a much needed victory!

I don't think we'd have conceded the first goal at QPR with Rory in midfield either.

We definately wouldn't have conceded the second. LeGITwood just waltzed past both Whelan and Diao and ran 20 yards into the great hole on the edge of our box. Delap on his recent form would have tracked back and at least made it difficult.

Agree, his tracking has been superb, and he would have been there for Leigertwood on at least one occassion I'm sure
Quick point on Leigertwood- before yesterday he had scored 5 goals in his entire 6 year career!!!

Typical that should happen to us - we concede goals from players who are far from prolific goal scorers - Leigertwood & Chaplow for instance!!

Thought it was interesting that buzacky swapped shirts with gally and spoke well of the club in his post match interview with leigertwood.
Saying that though he may of just been impressed with gally because we looked at lot more solid when he came on we passed and played the ball well.
I think a midfield of lawrence pugh delap and gally should definately be on the cards for saturday.

We've also conceded to Rob Edwards' first Wolves goal (after about 100 games) and Jack Hobbs' first professional goal in recent weeks.
That said, poor old Southampton. They let Mama score!!!!

Marvin Elliot scored for Brizzle-he's hardly prolific!

I like this game- we also let David Livermore, Jim Goodwin and Lloyd Sam score Also, David Perkins scored against us for Rochdale. In over 200 professional games he has scored just 4 times

Delaps passing (especially 1st time passes) have improved as well since the Autumn.
I actually think he should get in the box a bit more & score a few goals although TP may prefer Whelan to be the one going forward normally.

Ye he would have made a big difference and certainly would have given leigertwood the space he had for his goals, although the 1st was a great strike. We really did miss his long throws aswell
