assuming we sign no one else and that Griffin's red card is rescinded (surely even the arrogant twat D'Urso will admit he was wrong)
Simonsen
Griffin Shawcross Riggott Dickinson
Lawrence Delap Pugh Gallagher
Fuller Cresswell
Subs: Nash Wilkinson Cort Diao Sidebe
Hopefully a couple of new additions might make things even more interesting, but Pugh at left back, Cresswell out wide and Mama up front just aren't working at the moment. Time to freshen things up Tony...........

What we have with opposing teams more and more now is that they fly at us. They close us down quickly and attack us on the break. Yesterdays midfield did not protect the defence nor did it make any really telling balls forward. When Pugh moved to midfield it was the first time we had looked effective there. We need at the back a cool head - Riggott - along side hime either Cort or Shawcross but I think Ryan for he would be better with an experienced guy talking to him ( a la Thomo and Taggart). At full backs - we need agressive, fast defenders - Wilko and Dicko (Griff is a better footballer but we are getting caught with pace) Midfield - Lennie, Rory, (Pugh/Whelan), (Gallagher/Pugh) Central midfield must protect the heart of the back four. Rory - except for his throws must "hold". Pugh - I think the better for this approach to be the one to get to the edge of the box. Up front - Mama (not Cressie as he too often goes to ground and therefore does not chase back and we cannot afford him and Ric. - we actually need a Roberts/Adebola type) with Ric. Ric is so idle at times but he is also a bit special

Will be very interesting to see who (if anyone) gets dropped.
I think he will adopt the obvious approach - Play Dicko at left back and move Pugh into the middle to repace Whelan. Beyond that he wont change anything except possibly place Nash as he clearly has it in for Simmo !!

Simmo
Wilko Shawcross Cort/Riggott Griff
Liam Delap Pugh Cresswell
Mama Fuller
I don't think we can play our style without a target man like Mama. There's nothing wrong with the team apart from a couple of bad results, we will get the form back, and that is unlikely to come from dropping people out where to be fair the whole team has under performed.
I've said this before tho and generally got a slagging, but how about leaving Fuller on the bench, play Gally or Parkin up front with the remit to batter the defence and play them hard, then bring Ric on for the last 1/2 hour, ready to go and run rings round tired defenders? I reckon this could work and keep our top goalscorer a bit fresher for the big six pointers we've got coming up.

Burnley dont pass the ball as well as QPR or WBA & arnt as physical (especially now Gray has gone) as Watford or Stoke.
their CB's will not want to face Mama & Fuller so I think those two should play with Gally on the left.

northsidestokie: I agree with the 1st team you have for the Burnley game but as for leaving out Fuller, thats not even an option. He is our most influential player and without him the team would not score half the amount of goals they have this season because when he doesnt score he normally beats 7 of there players and sets it up for someone else, e.g. setting up Lawrence against Scunny

I like billy's team (I'd rest Ryan). My patience has run out with Mama, especially at home where the onus is on us to attack.
Having a striker on the ptich who you know is almost certain not to score is just not good enough. With Liam, Cresswell and Gallagher supplementing Fuller, we have goal threats across the pitch.

Simo/Nash
Griffin Riggot [if fit] Cort/Shawcross [rest either one of them] Dicko
Lawrence Delap Pugh Gallagher
Fuller Cresswell
With that midfield i don't think we need Mama flicking the ball on in the hope Ricky can produce somethin' special .. Surely enough quality in there to keep it on the deck.

For me:
Simmo
RB - Wilko LB - Griff - Provided the twat D'urso rescinds the red card CB - Cort CB - Riggott
RM - Lawrence CM - Delap CM - Pugh LM - Gally
CF - Fuller CF - Cressy
Subs: Nash Wilko Mama Diao Shawcross
Ryan is poor at the moment and needs a rest. Pugh is far more effective in centre midifeld than at LB.
