Alright we've lost them and not played particularly well in either. But they are 2 games that on paper and at the start of the season(given our records at both ground) i wouldn't have put down 6 points. Are we reading more into cause they came back to back?
Promotion is still in our own hands and i still believe we'll get there but and ths goes for all 3 or 4 teams going for it it'll be the home results not so much the away that'll get us there.
So lets put it down to a few lesson's learned and a bad week at the office and get down there Saturday, get behind the 11 players chosen and cheer them on to 3 points
COME ON STOKE

2 crap Stoke performance + 2 crap ref performances=really pissed off Stoke that are blowing off steam after being really pissed off all week. We need to get to the Brit cheer on the lads and beat Burnley with no cock ups. A win would set us back up and bring back the confidence that is needed currently.

To be honest i think on saturday we'll stuff burnley and the lads will be well up for it after two poor performances.

also not forgetting our terrible first half against scunny and 2nd half against saints. the cracks are there, the defence needs sorting out (hopefully riggot will sort it) . shawcross and cort are slow off the mark, a striker with a bit of pace and movement can easily get the 5yards they need. griff is never a right back and should ALWAYS play left back and pugh isn't a left back and has been man of the match the 2 times he plays centre mid.
in summary, i'm very sorry to say but i feel its the play offs for us.

Yes - we were awful at QPR but it was only our finishing at Preston (after the first 25 minutes when we actually realised we were in trouble) From 25 mins onwards - without being at our best - we battered them. Lessons - do not be complacent - that is from Preston.
For QPR - Remember we got to the top by working our socks off and not carrying passengers. Diao was never there at QPR, Cressy spent more time on his bum than his feet, Ryan???, we just cannot afford so many off days and QPR played the best they have all season apparantly. So wake up Stoke - we have to work to win games.

If it is to be playoffs lets hope it's not QPR we play! They were much better than us I cringed all the way through the game apart from a few mins in the second half!

The run in is not easy for any team. Preston fighting to stay in this league, QPR an outside chance of the playoffs Burnley a good chance of the playoffs. The same goes with all the other teams around us. Simply put we have had 6 points chalked off now as things stand we really cannot afford to chuck and home points away not one. If we can gain away points we still stand a great chance of auto promotion but any idiosyncrasies have now got to be left behind and only 100% focus from the first whistle to the last should be applied.

Were they really that much better than us though? We were stunned by the first goal and then decided as Trousedog so eloquently portrayed from a previous thread and match to become gazelle like in defense. We still had enough to cause QPR a few problems even whilst struggling. I would actually love to meet these again if it were to be the playoffs.

I would say we were as good as PNE at deepdale last tuesday, and they both could have been different games if we hadn't hit the post and missed all those one-on-one's at deepdale, and if that deflection had have got off the bar an in at loftus road.
In both games we've had chances, but in all honesty we weren't good enough, defensively we looked alarmingly static, stood too far of there player's and caught in posession alot.
However i think/hope TP will have sorted that issue out for saturday......

yes they were much better alright a few things didn't go too well for us but Vine caused us major problems and we looked very poor TBH. Fuller did the best he could but other than that Oh Gallagar did well when he came on too. Not trying to pour salt into the wound but I feel as bad about losing as any other Stokie trust me, but it wasn't a case of us being really bad they were just better!

I am not denying that QPR tasted blood after the first goal and picked us off clinically. Though I still say that was as much to do with very shoddy play on our behalf as much as QPR being very good. Rowan Vine is a fine player though.
