Could anyone give me a bit of info on this player, think it was around 66/67 time, where did he play ect.. is he dead or what?

Nope deffinately tony, was a local lad, only played a few games then was shipped of to the shrimps i think

Tont Bentley was a centre forward I think, a small guy disnt make many appearances.

Career: Potters(April 1955, proff, December 1956), SouhtendUtd (£1500, May 1961, retired , May 1971)
Tony Bentley did well at schoolboy level before making his senior debut for the Potters at outside right against Barnsley in February, at the age of 18. He went on to play in over 50 games for the Potters. After being successfully converted into full back he gave Southend excellent service. amassing more than 400 appearances, while skippering two testimonials. On retirement in 1971 Bently turned down an offer from Port Vale and quit football to go into catering and teaching in the Folkstone area.
