I know it will make little difference. However, I feel better after venting. Im not holding my breath for a reply:
Dear Mr Wright
I am a Stoke City fan but please dont let this fact cloud your judgement of the fact that Andy D'urso today made a decision that is without doubt the worst decision in Football I have ever seen in my time on this earth.
'I am just bitter' - you may say. Well, I am guilty of being disappointed at my team losing 3-0 today. However, the decision to send off Andy Griffin, the stoke city captain in the aforementioned game was nothing short of outrageous. If you can be bothered to look at the incident, you will clearly see that Griffin took the ball and NOT ANY part of the QPR player.
I was always of the opinion that referees can only 'give what they see' If you look at D'urso's position when Griffin took the ball, it is quite clear that he was not in a good position to see the tackle. How can he then, possibly send the man off? There was no appeals for any foul from the QPR players/bench/fans alike. Another clear indication that the so called 'tackle' was clean as the day is long. If you look at the incident carefully, it is clear that Grifin took the ball, took it under control and passed it to a stoke player. There was no contact from Griffin's boot and the QPR player. In fact, the boot of the QPR player raked down Griffin's leg.
This type of decision and utter incompetence could cost stoke city an awful lot. However, will D'urso have to face any music. NO! He will continue to referee with further incompetence. If players get it wrong, they get punished. Why not referees? You may say he has been demoted but why if he has been demoted must the lower league clubs suffer from his incompetence?
I am certain that Mr D'urso will face no action whatsoever for the bewildering red card he so easily flashed at Griffin. In my opinion, he should never referee again. No doubt, you will close ranks and give D'urso a pat on the back for flashing another red card. The cost to Stoke City FC though could be devastating.
It is refereeing displays like this that dampens the most enthusastic of fans. I pay to watch my team and NOT the attempts of a referee trying to make a further name of himself and to further enhance his career. A good referee is one you dont notice in a game. Well, today, Mr D'urso made it very clear to everyone that he was there.
Please feel free to pass this e-mail onto Mr D'urso himself. I have no doubt that he will pull a smug little smirk and put it into the recycle bin as fast as he flashed the red card to Andy Griffin.
Yours in total anger & bewilderment
SGS

Good letter, but odds on that you get no reply, or you get a bland reply which says nothing of relevance to the points you make.

Well said, but nothing will be done. There's only one problem with your letter. There WERE appeals from a few QPR players, especially from Ephraim who got up and waved a card in the face of D'Urso possibly influencing D'Urso further in making up his mind.

Was disgraceful not to see one QPR player stick up for Griffin especially the one that he was supposed to have being on the end of such a career ending tackle.
