We can't hide from what was a very poor performance today and I hope beyond hope that it sparks TP into action because we've been getting away with a lot of things for quite a while and now is the time to put it right.
That means changes at left-back, centre-half, left midfield and arguably in goal as well and TP needs to be brave enough to make them against Burnley.
But I do believe that today's performance could just be the turning point in our season. A number of players seem to have let the recent praise go to their head but they will rightly come in for criticism now and it's time to see how they respond to that.
There are ten games to go and we need to go out and prove ourselves as the best team in the league, starting with a good win next weekend. It's going to come down to pure bottle and I'd like to think we have that in abundance and it's now time to show it.
Forget about all the other teams, whatever the media is saying and what has happened in the season so far. It starts now and promotion is there for the taking...let's do it.

To me Griffin was far better at LB last season, wilko in at RB and perhaps Riggot in CB. Gally needs to be involved and we need ANOTHER forward and winger to come in that can change a game. EDITED : Thanks , Mark

Griff played most of last season at left back mate !

i think gally should b ahead of creswell to start against burnley on the wing, plus i do think we need another striker and winger, defence need extra training and they need to get more solid, i don't think danny pugh at left back is the solution, he is more of a winger he gets dragged out of position to easily at LB

You make a good point mate ! I think Griff seems to prefer it at LB too.
I might get slated for saying this but I think that Danny Pugh was a complete waste of £500k.

He's been MOTM twice in his 2 starts in central midfield - but has been average at best when played elsewhere - which has been 90% of his games.
Whether you'd select him in the middle ahead of the in-form Delap or Whelan is another matter.
I think he's tidy enough, but I could think of better ways of spending 500k.

That's the biggest trouble with Pugh, he can play in three positions but he's not our best player in any of them.
For what it's worth my team for the next game would be:
Simmo
Wilko Riggott Shawcross Griffin
Lawro Delap Whelan Gally
Fuller Sidibe

Mine too, LS.
But I don't think it'll be TP's?

Re: Pugh, agree LpoolStokie1, though sadly, Whelan is now suspended so we will have to move things round yet again !

I don't know to be honest but he needs to be brave otherwise we'll mess it up. And I hate to say it but I think a lot of the blame will lie at his feet if we do because he has got the players at his disposal to remove the weak links.
Time to see what he's made of.

Leavin fuller on his own up front.... is a no for me.... not because he cant do the role... far from it... but his knees arent that good and play up... and he is tirin himself out.... which at a hard time ahead isnt what we want to do.

I've said all along that the defence needs tightening up, and, we were shambolic at the back today.
I said from the start Cort is not the right foil for Shawcross and evidently he isn't. His goals are a magnificent asset, but defensively he is distinctly average in my book.

I've never been convinced about Cort either Nath and today was genuinely the first time I saw him make a tackle...I've been looking out for weeks!
PS. Don't go back to your LL is Ace username because he's had two absolute shockers since you changed to that!

Didn't he rattle in that corker against Ipswich though? A flaw in ones arguement, eh....

Had you changed it by then you little tinker?!
I heard a little whisper that he heard about your username and thought he'd made it...quite clearly he hasn't!

Yes changed it by then. Remember all the threads praising him the next day and thought... 'Right again'.

Haha, fair enough!
Still, maybe you could change it to RobbieBlakeIsAce in time for next week!

Think we should play:
Simmo
Delap Shawcross Riggott Griffin Lawrence Whelan Pugh Gallagher Fuller Cresswell
I don't feel Sidebe has contributed much at all the last few games he runs around a lot but dosen't do a lot else yes he wins the odd header, but he shits himself in the final third, it's either an awful attempt on goal or he runs it into touch.
