Pugh - not a left back - how many times do we have to say it Cresswell - not a winger - how many times do we have to say it Cort/Shawcross not a partnership - how many times do we have to say it ? Simmo- stuck to his line - how many times do we have to say it ? Diao - not fit - how many times do we have to say it ? Sidibe - not a goal threat - how many times do we have to say it

cresswell played there most of season (2nd in league) cort/shawcross played there most of season (2nd in league) Simmo played in goal all season (2nd in league) diao i agree with Sidibe is a major part of this team- when will you accept this? Pugh is better centre mid or left wing but aint bad fullback either!

It's hard to argue with any of those points, ceejays.
But I don't suppose you can escape the fact that we're 2nd with all those players being mainstays.
We do score shedloads of goals through set-pieces, the most in the league by a country mile (maybe the highest % of goals ever which does distort our goalscoring productivity stats) and Cresswell, Shawcross and Cort have been central to that productivity whcih has chiseled out points by the truckload in tight games.
But the fact remains that since Cort and Shawcross appeared on the scene as a partnership, only Scunthorpe have conceded more goals.
And for all Cresswell's hard work and goals, he ain't a winger, is he? And you can hardly say his presence and hard work is keeping us defensively solid in light of the above stat.
Gallagher would give us another dimension, and we'd retain a goal threat from that position.
