Just when you think that the club are starting to pull in the right direction, they go and fuck it up. A few weeks ago I spoke with the commercial department to get a price from a party of 8 in the Waddo suite for the Blackpool game. I was quoted £60 + VAt per adult. I rang the club yesterday to move this forward to be told that all of the prices for the remaining fixtures had now gone up. The Blackpool game would now cost £80 + VAT per paying adult. I stated my case that the club should honour the original quote and a few enquiries behind the scenes were made. I also told the club that on my recommendation the company I work for recently used the meeting facilities at the ground (£300 + VAT) and that I would be somewhat reluctant to do so in the future if this is the way they wanted to treat customers. I have now been told that despite all of the above, it's £80 + VAT or fcuk off! Tony Scholes - if this message get's brought to your attention you are a complete prick. Not only will we now not be coming in the Waddo suite for the Blackpool game, SCFC will lose out on future income it would have received on the corporate side of things. I despair, I really do

It's called cashing in on your 'customers' and abusing your 'supporters.'

A lot has changed in a few weeks Frosty
Can see the club's point to be honest- the crowds have risen rapidly and no doubt the interest in the hospitality as a result. Should have booked at the time- the club will invoice you if you ask them.

A similar thing last season when I was over- did personally get the original price but slightly different circumstances- to be honest never asked and did off their own back.
On the exceptionally busy days they put tables in the Greenhoff suite to account for the overflow- can see that happening if things carry on.

and why oh why do they but Fans prices up when we give them more support, but car't get the players to meet contracts and pay them. Would you get paid if you didn't meet your contract like Parkin does week after week.

The reality is this Price before £60 + VAT = £70.50 Price now £80 + VAT = £94.00 Extra £23.50 per head x 8 in the party = £188. However, it's not the money, it's the principle. When I was first quoted the price, if they had said 'By the way we may be puting these prices up soon if we go to the top of the division' I would have made a decision more urgently. Anyway, I'll wait for the phone call a few days before the match when they have not sold all the places. ' We have now agreed to honour the original price quoted' You!

Unless it says in his contract he doesn't get paid if he doesn't play etc I fail to see your point. Only option the club has is to try and offload them elsewhere if they're not happy and can do so- if the chap here in question had paid a deposit etc and had written confirmation for the game then a different matter- seems was a phone enquiry and things have changed drastically since then.

I sit opposite the JS Stand and at the Ipswich game every Exec box was polulated, not to mention a larger proportion of the Sky boxes than usual. I can't remember the last time I saw all the Exec boxes with lights on and people in. Sign of the times indeed.

Sandford,
'The club have bent over backwards over the last few weeks for supporters,Putting the price up for a few corporate freebies in the waddington suite inner to much to ask in return is it'
This was not a business booking but four season ticket holders giving their seats up to spend a day with family in the surroundings of the Waddo suite.

I have never understood why season ticket holders can't get a discount anyway.
Price for total stranger £60 or £80 plus VAT (as in this thread).
Price for season ticket holder £60 or £80 (as in this thread). But season ticket holder has already paid for his seat so why can't he have a discount?
Also stranger likely to be able to reclaim VAT if it is a corporate do whereas season ticket holder on personal treat has to pay VAT making it even more expensive!!!

Bayern if that's the case fair play to the club AGAIN - you know what you get when you buy your season ticket yet some still seem to want free this free that.

£25 isn't far off the price of two adult matches in the Boothen if you have a season ticket. Price per game is £14.34 in the Boothen for this season and the discount is worth £12.50

I sent them an e-mail asking about the same thing, for the same game towards the beginning the season. They never even bothered to answer me back. I have decided to take the people i was going to take, to a restaurant instead. Obviously, Stoke City are not interested in my money.

Fornside,
Put it another way.
Let's say someone wanted to stay in a cottage in the lakes and were quoted £60 per night to stay on a certain date.
A few weeks later the lake district is shown on TV and there is more interest in the area.
The same person rings up to book said accomodation, would it be right to then say 'We are no longer sticking by the original quote due to increased interest'?
In the short term the person letting the cottage could get more money but if the interest waivers, then in the long term by upsetting what could have been a regular customer could turn out to be a bad decision.

Lightwood, When dealing in the commercial side of things unless they can make a buck of commision out of you they can't be arsed. Evidence from when i worked there. Who were you speaking to Lightwood let me guess Heather? What you said mate was right wait till a couple days before the game when they havn't sold all the tickets they will ring you mate. Stick to your guns. Big John

Lightwood, if the proprietor had published a price for a particular date in a brochure then I would expect them to quote a price for a date and then stick to it. When I let my cottage out I published a price for a week and stuck to it. But for long weekends (obviously I could only do these for dates when a full week had not been booked) then I quoted what I thought the market would bear at the time I took the booking.

Unfortunately it's not a set price they start from £50 + vat, so as season progresses they grab more dosh if success comes our way. Wheat has reached £200 per ton so wild bird food went up 10%,petrol has increased so delivery charges are hiked up,postage goes up in April so lets hope SCFC don't send me flyers and save money!
